Hope this will be the beginning of the end of a lot of the Lola propping and maybe Kyle/Lola as well. IMO, Lola is an awful character who has dragged the show down. The constant propping/showcasing of her at the expense of other characters (especially others in the young set) is sickening. I dislike what has become of Kyle since he has been paired with her. Their storylines together have been awful, boring and not the least bit soapy or entertaining.

I believe their wedding was the lowest ranked wedding on Y&R of all time. And at the very least it was the lowest ranked in total viewers for that week. A lot of people were getting irritated and frustrated by the constant focus on Lola (as well as the Rosales family in general had six family members on in the past year.)

Some people suspected that Angelica was trying to push her own agenda in regards to Lola and the Rosales family. And they very well could have been right. I hope things change regarding the continued and heavy/damaging focus on Lola/this family.

Angelica McDaniel was horrible, as is Steve Kent, but I also don't think this is a positive move looking at what happened to ABC and considering the ratings. This is obviously a response to the ratings drop and will follow with budget cuts to Y&R. Writing has been on the wall that we're just riding things out anyway so I can't be too upset.

    • The first one is Cass Winthrop dressed as Krystle Lake on Another World (not from his original creation of the character to hide from the loan shark Tony the Tuna, but at a romance convention trying to find out what had happened to Felicia who was missing). The second one is also Another World, Jake McKinnon as Doris although I don't recall what his purpose was.
    • I know there was one brief scene in the summer of 1989 where Lillian did mention Calla.. but in relation to her past relationship to Ross and it was to Roger while he was a patient at Cedars.  I think he was trying to pump her for information on Ross.. and for some reason, Calla's name came up.   I could see perhaps Beth mentioning that her mother Lillian was visiting Calla.. but not exactly giving any sort of details as to the going ons in Calla's life off screen.

    • They're neither great nor terrible AFAIK, but it is more a question of the streaming numbers in this day and age vs. actual TV airings. The Chibnall era reminded me much more of the crisis years, but I do think it's a very real possibility now as well due to the streaming bubble collapse affecting the show and its prospects.
    • ANYTHING to get her off the screen..she COULD have been interesting if she and Van had a few face offs..(there was a mild one of her going back to work...but I wanted something meatier "Bitch, I am Vanessa Chamberlain and I don't take advice from someone who followed the..career path you did!" I did like Alex's outright disdain for her.
    • Thanks @Vee for the commentary.    I haven’t even watched this season yet after  I couldn’t get past the couple episodes last season…like it was too Disneyified for my taste, although I did think it was a least better than the Chibnall era (but so is a lot of things). I’ll probably go back and binge it now. Hoping this season ends on a high note. I did read the ratings are terrible. As it stands I’m beginning to feel like what long time DW fans felt with S26 in 1989.
    • Yes, they are all on contract. Next.
    • I also never understood Alex's friendship with Sonni or keeping the secret of Marah's paternity.  Not exactly heartbroken about Ms. Sally being ushered to the Hereafter.

I'm sorry but I'm a glutton for punishment. Would love to see this woman OWNING the canvas. Telling off Leslie who tells her she's the head b!tch.
