June 24, 20196 yr Member The show (and most soaps) are going to be canceled in a few years regardless, but I'd love to see ABC poach Ed Scott from B&B to EP GH. If only to see him rid the show of Valentini's cheap aesthetics (though, I realize the existing soaps have pretty sparse budgets these days). Also, B&B just isn't the right soap for anyone to display their true talents. He'd make more sense at Y&R, but we know that's not going to happen... I know Scott's always wanted to EP a more action-oriented soap, and given that used to be GH's forte, pairing him with a competent writer would be ideal. And, of course, he couldn't pull the same nonsense he pulled behind the scenes at DAYS... But we all know no one cares anymore, so our speculation is futile. June 24, 20196 yr Member You know, I'd forgo the lush production values, if Ed Scott (or any other, competent EP) could just light a fire under the writers' asses and get them excited about writing for this show again.
June 24, 20196 yr Member It's really hard when they'd prefer to hire puppet writers like Shelly and formerly Jean who are trained to write what's dictated to them and not bring one ounce of creativity to the table.
June 24, 20196 yr Member Too old? If Richard Culliton is not too old to keep writing scripts, then Gary Tomlin is not too old to keep producing shows into the ground.
June 24, 20196 yr Member Just hire Christopher Goutman. He'll definitely get GH canceled sooner than later. He's a soap killer....AW and ATWT.
