No way is Y&R going to kill off the only daughter of yet another Abbott woman (remember Colleen?) and it's highly unlikely that they will write Sharon to lose another daughter.

Tess should've been gone six months ago.  I haven't watched this show in forever and even I know that.

I’d have no problem pairing Mariah with a man, after she’s given the chance to have a proper female love interest with the same type of romance she’d have if she were put with Kyle. If they simply ditched Tessa and had her move onto a man it would piss me off due to the obvious bias.

Also joining in on the Abby discussion, I personally would prefer Kristen Alderson to the current actress. With her I feel she’s always limited to just be a sounding board. She is so bland and has no range, which is why Abby hasn’t reached her full potential.

I honestly wouldn't mind if Kyle/Mariah dumped Lola/Tessa and ended up falling for each other. Though, if they are put together it may be down the line. I could see a nice slow burn love story eventually being written for them, after them being friends for a while. A good foundation has been set for them. With them constantly supporting each other and Kyle helping build up Mariah's confidence. And Mariah still likes men and needs to be with somebody she has chemistry with and that isn't Tessa. IMO, Kyle has chemistry with Mariah and has had chemistry with multiple women, including Hilary and insufferable Lola.

I do think unfortunately that Kyle and Mariah, (especially Kyle) may both be stuck in their current bad pairings for a while. Unless they get rid of Tessa and/or have Kyle realize he prefers Summer.

That's a real "turn the gun on myself" moment for me.

There are at least a dozen talented young daytime vets who could take the Abby role and make it a contender, but the writing will remain awful for her because Abby has only ever been considered a bubbleheaded heiress and male eye candy.

I don't know whether it's the character Mariah or CG herself, but the show seems to see her as a fringe character.  A Kyle and Mariah pairing is a no brainier but they refuse to go there. That they paired her with Kevin and she's the only white woman they actually paired with Devon in his almost 15 years on the show seems the biggest indication of this.

I also don't mind Mariah being with a man again but I think she needs to be given a fair shot with a woman first.

As someone else said, to pair her with a man and give that pairing all the story and airtime they never gave her female pairing would appear descriminatory.

I thought that her and Kyle looked good standing beside each other today.

IMO, they gave her a real shot with a woman, the pairing just is not good.

Mariah/Tessa got more of a chance at romance, than say Ana has. Heck, IMO they got a more developed romance than Kyle has gotten. This relationship they got him in with Lola, where she has constantly tried and changed him, made him feel bad about himself is not good.

I think that teriah had alot of interest at first. But the show kept dragging their feet and lost momentum. Their supporters lost interest.  Then they wrote Tessa as a liar who treated Mariah like crap. That ended it.

SSM wrote Teriah's. That's probably why it felt more interesting and compelling. But Mal used his same hatchet on them that he used on everyone.

Ana was brought on for Devon. He's her pairing, for better or worse. However, they both will get romances. They've been cast.

I honestly wish that Y&R would have do what Days does and just moved ahead with a new episode today. (And post yesterday's online). In spite of the pre-emption yesterday due to the Cohen hearing. Wednesday's US show that aired today isn't as good as the show that will now air on Friday. The heavy focus on the Rosales family, including Mia making a fool of Rey and the JT stuff isn't definitely isn't as good as what should have aired today.  We've had quite a few pre-emptions the past few months and I wish the show wouldn't keep setting the original airings back.

    • I found it to be a rather odd way to deal with a character departing for parts unknown.

Luckily, EJ and Johnny, and pretty much every other character saved today’s episode.  I didn’t expect Javi to be the one to save Sarah though, and I don’t mind it at all, because if it means that Javi is finally going to get his own identity/character, away from his douchy bf, I’m all for it. Javi’s scenes would’ve been a lot better had it not been for him. EJ and Johnny were the best part of today. Their conversation hit a lot of important beats and I’m so looking forward to seeing them play out. And now that EJ knows that Johnny is going to work for Xander, that opens up another dynamic to their storyline and to the Kiriakis family storylines as well. Tying them all together could be really good. There are so many story possibilities that can come out of this. And I thought Carson Boatman did a pretty good job again too.  I also liked that Johnny was there to comfort Chanel after everything that happened with Sarah. They’re so good together. But I do have mixed feelings about Chanel possibly forgiving Johnny so quickly. Hopefully, the question that she asked him at the end of today leads to more conflict for the two of them.  And yeah, still no changes in Alex’s character lol
    • Awesome, thanks so much for taking the time to grab this episode. I had a quick review of your rip because I was curious why it was 700MB and 30 minutes. The first 10 minutes of the episode is 3169 (opening credits at 5 minutes and again at 15 minutes). I thought we had the full HD version of ep.3170 on the YouTube channel, but it appears they added the wrong episode but labelled it 3170.
    • I guess, according to Mike Manning in the Michael Fairman chat, he was almost Derek

    • That's a name I haven't heard in a minute. Thanks!
    • Well, since I'm still up unexpected past my growing-into-it bedtime. lol.   I finally got to rewatch Monday's. I even rewatched Friday's to take it all in. Now that we got the reveal and hit the climax of the SilkPress Sheila storyline, now we get to watch the aftermath and/or turns that come with its climax. So far, so good. Friday left us with three cliffhangers. And what I found surprising was how I felt about them over a rewatch.    I know some of you all felt a way about the dialogue during Kat vs Eva. I remember liking it more the first time around and it was nice for them to have these scenes to establish more of a frenemy vibe for them going forward. That still held up. But I found myself agreeing with you all about that dialogue. lol. Still, it was nice to have both of their POVs.   Second up was Silk Press Sheila vs the Duprees. And I was happy to get a brief spat with Dani in there. But the rest standouts for me was Anita and Martin. Haters can hate and given the tail end of the episode, I will agree to a fault, but Brandon has impressed and he was on fire on Monday and had great subtle work on Friday. And that subtle work made it all the better. Like I believe I said when I was watching...BC has a much better grip on his character and seems to be realizing what his tics are so has started to be able to know when to turn it up and when to dial it down. And for the most part (emphasis on most), he got that. Meanwhile, TT was giving fierceness, and I was here for every minute of it. Her reading SilkPress. Her being quip about it. Her 'BE STILL.' Ooooo she had a chokehold on me as Anita gave what I was expecting her to SilkPress. WORTH THE WAIT. I also loved Vernon's CHOOSE SILENCE. I wonder though if SilkPress will figure out Martin's condition from her observing Anita and Vernon with him.   And speaking of worth it...Oooo YES Nicole vs Ted was worth totally worth it. Oooooo I knew DD would nail it, and it was all so well done. The fight between the part of Nicole who is a therapist vs Nicole as a woman who wants to express how she feels. And being so angry. And how there would be moments when it would shoot out of her. And how she would restrain herself. But how she felt she should not be restrain. Just the levels of processing and layers. And DD played it all so well. I do wish Maurice gave just a little bit more, but overall, I thought he did a good job even if it was just Ted coming across as a deadbeat and not at all redeemable. And Kat being there for her mother was so beautiful.   Minority, but I love the montage though yes, it did run a little long. Given how the Duprees like to bond (and also as I mentioned from my own very recent family experiences), it did not seem out of place to me.     That said...let's see how the aftermath worked in today's episode. Overall. Cuz RC can be hit or miss.
    • I wonder whose brilliant (

) idea it was to do an almost complete rip-off of the "who killed Tom King"-storyline. That's some quality style writing right there.....
