He officially came out to the public in 2012 and his marriage was announced in 2014 (during the show's final season I believe), although they'd gotten married a few years earlier. So he was out to the industry when he got White Collar, but if he had been out to the public, I'm not as sure whether he would have gotten that show. I'd like to think he would have.

I don't really follow who is out in daytime now and that wasn't part of the original post I was replying to but I'm certainly happy for any soap actors who are out and get work.

She came out as bi on an instagram post.

Source out.com

"The soap opera actress and Days of Our Lives star shared that she is proud to be bisexual in a short and sweet Instagram post.

"LGBTQ Proud," she wrote, hashtagging #BiPride.

"In fairness I've been saying I'm somewhere over the rainbow for years," she later tweeted about her coming out. "No one has ever picked up on it haha! So I decided to be more direct haha!""

Which is why it never makes sense to me when people criticize DAYS because they feel that the gay writer is featuring the gay actor too much.  The truth feels more nuanced (as it usually does).

Also, Lachlan was on this season of Station 19 (a show that I've never seen, but know it is popular), and Mike Manning has a popular podcast and was just cast in a film.

Yes I most certainly do. And as I have told you before, you do NOT deserve to see the treasures in my possession so you will not see them. The Susan Flannery fan club back in the day. They literally glued polaroids into their newsletter and mailed them out. No photocopy pictures.

Yes, magazine photos of actresses playing instruments in their West Village apartments, and men who were too busy to date were common signs.  But, what interests me now that the soap press is essentially gone, and actors have direct access to their fans through social media, is what are the forces that still keep them in the closet?  This is obviously rhetorical, and thus we can only speculate.  But, I cannot find empathy with a soap actor whose misperceptions about opportunities, trumps their willingness to live honestly.  They want the benefits of liberation, without contributing to the cause.  Which I think is morally incorrect.  Because when suicide is still the leading cause of death amongst LGBTQI teens, adults in the public eye should not hide behind a need for privacy.

Kids told me I was gay when I was only 5-6 years old and definitely didn't know I was gay by then. Maybe it was the fact that I played with dolls and was a diva even in kinder garten.

    • I wish I cared about the homeless lady as much as everyone else seems to. After the nothing burger that was the lawsuit, this just feels like another boring Naomi storyline at Orphy Genes since she has no office.
    • That's great to hear. Thanks. I wish that was more readily available.
    • Just learned that Clifton Davis wrote this song!  I had no idea.

    • I think even if Marland had wanted to write more for Sara/Adam, his hands would have been tied as Robert Milli was one of the actors dumped by P&G due to his age.  From the bits and pieces I've seen of that period, Sara does have a key role in the Carrie plot, and Marland briefly gave her son Tim a more important part. I'm not sure if they just gave up on Tim once Kevin Bacon left or if they never really cared. I did not even know for many years that there was an actor in the part after Kevin...and then not one, but two. The Spauldingfield video on Tim doesn't even show the last actor (Nigel Reed), which kind of says it all. Anyway, I do get the sense Marland has some use for Sara, or for Millette. It's only after he goes that she is dumped. Of course he didn't ever hire her for his other shows, so maybe I'm wrong. (then again he never hired Geraldine Court either and he seemed very fond of her) Ann is an odd character to me as she is a proto-Lillian in being defined by pining for a Bauer brother and being involved in the death of one of their wives. I do wonder what else they could have done with her. She was friends with Diane, wasn't she? They could have had Diane manipulate her against Mike, I suppose.
    • Yassss....come on Maurice and Brandon...give us nothing!!! Wow, their need to develop their craft shone like a blinding light this episode. Brandon in his Martin and Smitty scenes sounded like he was reading and the facial expressions were giving Disney Channel. He did much better against Maurice in the Martin v Ted scenes. Now, Teddd-dyy (Dana's voice) was just flat. I watched the episode just now after reading the comment on here that Maurice needs to stop swaying, and now I can't unsee it. Has it really been this bad all along?  Ambyr carries. I don't need to say anymore. I am kind of excited to see this Kat/Tomas/Eva stuff play out.  Bill is such a dick to Dani. Like that's the mother of your children that you cheated on with your daughter's best friend but you look to take those low blows. Lord! When he said that thing about it being obvious he didn't care about Dani anymore since he was the one that walked out...that was cold. I even felt for Dani. Bill definitely is all over the spectrum. You can see a villain possibly surfacing, but you also see this great father. The elder Duprees move a little funny. I'm wondering what that is all about. Are they just overly protective matriarch and patriarch because they think it's what's best for their family, or are they afraid their secrets will come out or there's something more sinister there. Why would Vernon want to keep that information from Martin?  I hope something interesting comes out of this June stuff, but as of right now, I'm not too invested. It's not helping my interest on Naomi or Jacob either. However, tge actress playing Naomi has comes a long way from day one.
    • None of the males are taking their shirts off every week, so we know they have some degree of acting skill.

    • What can I say?  I did my best.
    • Thank you for sharing. I guess Nancy was catatonic most of her time on the show, so I guess the gasps make sense, lol. I had heard Cathy and Dick DeCoit were supposed to be on the show longer, but Trish Stewart leaving changed all that.
    • @Rmodelboy Thanks for posting that On-set pic of June. She looks great, you just might be right about her being Hayley sibling.
