All this switching writers or whatever!! the question is, are things going to change or stay the same with the same 5 characters?

Maybe she can convince Alden to come back as a breakdown writer and bring other former Y&R writers too. 

If she's any smart at all, she'll bring in Alden (assuming she's willing) as Co-HW or AT LEAST Associate HW.

I'm cautiously optimistic. I wanted her or Kay Alden ( who I still hope returns in some capacity). She has her work cut out for her. This show is so different than time she was with the show and so much needs fixing. 

Didn't she also take credit for creating Ashley? This woman has quite an unwarranted ego. 

I recall reading that she wrote Ashley scenes under Bill Bell's guidance. I think Kay Alden had a similarsituation in the 70's,taking responsibility for fleshing out Lorie/Leslie/ Lance.

I'm glad she's got the job because at least it's a Bell era writer and not some hack from ABC. SSM's success, I think, will depend on the team she builds around her. Obviously, Janice Ferri Esser and Natalie Minardi Slater must be kept - it's amazing how they've survived so many regimes but their talent speaks for itself, but the rest can go and SSM should be able to create her team. 

 

However, Kay Alden should be a part of that team. I can understand SSM not wanting to share her HW glory with anyone, but Kay Alden would be invaluable as a Co-HW like she was at B&B. Any capacity for Kay Alden, perhaps as a consulting producer, would be of immense benefit. 

I am soooooooo happy that Phelps is gone, Pratt is on his way out and SSM is in. Been a long darn year. Been a long time since......well whatever it was that brought MAB in to only make things worse. Happy Friday and weekend Y&R fans.

Will YR replace Chuck Pratt as co exec producer to work with Mal?. Wendy Riche would be so awesome in that role with Mal.

Rumour is that Altman and Passanante (along with Frank Valentini) have re-signed with General Hospital.

So glad Jill Farren Phelps and Charles Pratt are gone. Lets hope a cast purge is next.
