Y&R: Pratt OUT! SSM IN!

Jamey Giddeons said Daytime Confidential is working on the story, but he's hearing Sally Sussman Morina is the new Headwriter.

I can't wait to hear BetterForgotten's response.

I didn't mind some of her DAYS work, but I'd mostly call her mediocre, and has a little too high an opinion of her writing.

Yeah, where is Alvin?

Her Generations was boring as hell. She knows the history of Y&R though…..I was flipping the channels this week and saw Jess Walton on the show…..gawd she is awesome. I hope they can get someone who can make Y&R watchable again so I can tune in.

That's good news if it's true about Sally Sussman Morina in the works as a replacement. Morina may not always be the strongest writer but she's a safe bet and given she's been on and off with Y&R for the last thirty years I'll give her the benefit of the doubt for sure. Her husband Anthony has been with the show for a longtime now as well.

I thought Alden and Morina submitted a bible together before being denied for Pratt?

I'm not sure, but that would be great if we got them together. If she has a strong Co-HW I would be totally down with this, just her by herself doesn't get me extremely excited.

Pratt's been gone for a while; he removed YR from his work credits on Facebook two months ago.  Morina probably already writing. Remember, not only has she written the show before but her husband, Anthony Morina, is supervising producer.

They need to clean house:  Thomson, Conforti, Rebecca Taylor all need to go.  Remember: Morina is close with Thom Racina, Trent Jones, Michelle Val Jean, so some of those writers may show up on YR.

What happened to Trent Jones? Wasn't his last stint at ATWT? I always thought he should have gotten the HW gig at ATWT and Y&R.

I seem to recall Jones was run off at Y&R after Smith took over from Shaughnessy.

I checked Toups writers thread and Trent's last writing stint was with Y&R but info hasn't been updated since 2008.

Was he making too much sense for Smith's sensibilities?

Here comes Ron....

No he is too busy watching The Golden Girls and still crying over his firing at GH/OLTL.  He is fine unemployed.

Probably so. Jones was a rarity in which he was both a well seasoned P&G scribe who became a well seasoned Bell scribe.  Once Smith acquired power he started shaking up Y&R and not in a good way at all, hence why a lot of classic elements to Y&R went out the door in 2004.

I personally found 2004 to be the last classic year of Y&R, I thought it blew up in 2005, which I mostly hated.

Did he make it a year? I can't remember when he took over as HW

Nearly 2 I think?

It seems like he was there longer.
