The answer (which I PMed) is actually in reference to my favorite sequence on the show so far - not something you'd have seen with a male in that age range (or maybe at all) on ABC five years ago, let alone ten.

You wouldn't cut an episode order just for that unless there wasn't much investment in the show to begin with.

After that lovely story of how he berated a guest star for not being openly gay enough to grope, I'm not surprised if he's hard to deal with on the set.

It wouldn't have been the first time a network reacted so strongly to an actor's outspokenness.  Allegedly, CBS cancelled "Lou Grant" after the 1981-82 season due to, among other issues, Ed Asner's candid remarks about the Reagan administration's policy regarding El Salvador.  Of course, CBS denied the allegations, citing dwindling ratings for its decision to axe the show after five years.  But Asner (and others) has always suspected otherwise.

Regardless, though, I can't see ANY network, even in THIS day and age, threatening to cut an episode order for one of their series, or even cancelling it outright, just because one actor made unhappy talk about two OTHER actors that, in turn, upset a whole bunch of people who read it.  Was ABC pleased with Galvin's comments?  No.  Did they have a sit-down with him, whereupon they instructed him to issue his apology on Twitter?  Probably.  But would they have cut the episode order on "The Real O'Neals" as a means of punishing him?  I'd sooner believe that CBS was reviving "I Spy"...with Isaiah Washington and T.R. Knight.

Frankly, I'm not either.  To me, it was one thing to say everything he said in that interview, but to say what he said AND come across as, well, as entitled as he did...?  If anything, ABC probably would instruct the show's producers to de-emphasize his character -- not recast him, or kill him off, but make him less prominent on the series -- and build up the other, supporting characters.

I suspect we would have had a few withdrawals next year if Israel had won. I don't think many people would relish going to Jerusalem as things stand now. Not to mention it would have been a prime target for terrorist attacks.
    • And they've given us plenty. Sets, outdoor scenes, music licensing, etc. And that was the point of me using DAYS... so. It's obvious the casino set is not intended for long-term use, hence why it's likely it wasn't as evolved as the other community sets, etc.

    • I just had thought of how to save the Perkins family. (Inspired by Rituals) -- What if Marisa Perkins was Augusta Lockridge's sister? Fictionally, they could've both been local girls, one married rich and one married poor. Originally, I was going to suggest that Marisa be Sophia's sister, but then I realized Joe and Kelly would've been first cousins.  Of course, it would've truly inspired Sophia was if Rosa Andrade sister, with Rosa and Santana moving in to help CC raise the kids once Sophia disappeared.  While this could've avoided both gross CC and Santana affairs, the times were not right for a story about intersectional inequity.
    • https://www.instagram.com/p/DJxW5DLJLId/ Another World is my forever favorite soap opera. But it's finale is almost universally hated by its fans. What this is, is an edit where I've deleted everything I didn't like!!!
    • The Perkins family had potential to be a nice alternative to the more dysfunctional Capwells and wackier Lockridges... but I think a few factors did in the family. 1) Recasting of Joe Perkins 2) Bad casting of the Perkins Patriarch, and the one note writing for that character. 3) Lack of antagonistic interaction between the Capwells/Lockridges and Perkins.  (There was no awkwardness between Jade/Ted.. or CC disapproving of his son being friends with that Perkins girl, etc). 4) Wasting of Jade thus wasting the potential of the actress (which was realized on Days of Our Lives).  She had more potential than Laken oddly enough. The only member of the Perkins family that had appeal and a somewhat thought out story arc was Amy.
    • @GymnastGuyThanks for posting the three new Capitol 1985 episodes today. The two labeled March 12, and 13 are misidentified. The March 12 labeled one actually aired November 12 1985 which I figured out because Kenny Rogers' movie Wild Horses aired November 12th and it was announced over the "March 12" Cap credits. In addition, Craig Carlson is listed in the April credits but not the March. Craig left Capitol sometime after July 1985 before he rejoined OLTL in the credits by October 15, 1985; he was replaced on Cap by Radcliffe and Hamner. In these posted episodes Radcliffe/Hamner names appear in the March 85 episodes but not in the April.
