Like I said before, Nathan needs to be overseeing Production. Not talking story that is the writers gig. This is why I believe Nathan is calling the shots story wise and that Shelly & Jean are being told what to write

This is just like what happened at Y&R

No I am sick of hearing Jelly are being forced what to write. These woman are visionaries with a true vision for GH.

Sorry but it seems like Varni is calling the shots and it will backfire big time

If they were visionaries like you claim they would have succeeded at other soaps…they failed miserably and got fired….

I thought these two were the best writing team Y&R had since Cassie died. They were boring at times but they managed to balance the show and I definitely approved of their vision.

Jonnysbro your obsession with them is kind of hilarious though, because it's as if you don't think they are capable of failing at anything and that's just not true

I co-sign this.

I actually was starting to get back into Y&R under them, mostly because it wasn't a crazy ass mess like it's become since. But...I knew they weren't earth-changing.

Jelly aren't great writers, Jonnysbro. They won't change the world, and they won't revolutionize daytime, no matter how many times you try to tell us they will. Jean Passanante stays employed because she writes generally inoffensive soap opera that appeases as many meddling execs as possible. Hardly an ideal creative environment. They only have as much 'vision' as Nathan Varni will allow. It's well-known that he's got his nose where it doesn't belong and has been influencing story, possibly for months.

And Jean keeps getting hired because none of the legendary writers that are still around don't want to HW a soap anymore.

He's gal Friday to Vickie Drummer...he's so not talented in the soap story telling department.  No matter the mistakes Ron C made, no headwriter deserves to have a bimbo, non-writer looking over his shoulder, second guessing...

That and no one wants to hire them because it's obvious they will challenge the execs

The new writing regime did nothing good since they started. The show is not terrible but it is boring. Maybe they will get better. Good thing about NV is he seems to care about the vets. Hopefully 2016 will be better.
