GH: AMC actress joining show

Featured Replies

She presided over the decline of AMC and brought nothing to the show except FF material. I am surprised anyone thinks she has any value as an actress whatsoever. The New Erica, as AMC tried to make Greenlee, was a pale and poor substitute for the real thing and this actress is incapable of any decent work. She, Minshew and Mathison ruined All My Children, and it is a true joke that GH sought out this actress who is incapable of finding any work elsewhere ever, much like Minshew and Mathison. (paying work that is, Minshew does volunteer vanity crap on YT)

But ironically, this means even less airtime for Duke lol

I was going to ask him and when are you going to be on again...LOL

How do you do less than 0 episodes a month

Ha..true

The sad thing is, as I said, I think Budig would make a perfect Dr. Sarah Webber, and break the long-standing curse of that character. I can think of a great story that could use Liz and that whole family and finally introduce the parents, etc. But Ron and Frank don't think of an organic way to add a soap star anymore to the existing canvas - they just think about the spectacle, about pandering to the blogosphere by snapping up big stars and then inventing roles for them. "We got Donna Mills, so she has to be on doing some irrelevant [!@#$%^&*] that isn't connected to anyone the audience cares about! Michelle Stafford - it has to be an all-new role for an actress of her caliber! Rebecca Budig, new role!" It's become this cavalcade of stunts. The only one who doesn't fit into that schematic is Billy Miller, and his Jason is still very different.

They did this with Roger Howarth, too, supposedly - he could have been Stephen Lars or Tom Hardy, but those roles weren't "big enough" or edgy enough for Howarth. He might have actually been able to do alright as those characters, IMO, he'd never be Todd again but he'd be okay. But instead they went for spectacle.

And none of the stunt casting has worked. You would think Carlivati would have learned by now. But he is just happy crowing and beating his chest that he has all these big stars on his awful show.

She's very "hard" if that makes sense. I hated the "talking through gritted teeth" thing she did ALL THE TIME ugh. Only time I liked her as an actress was with Josh Duhamel

She isn't just hard - she's dead inside. And chock full of raging anti-chemistry with most of her co-stars. Similar to many of their prize ponies, actually.

She's lucky that the level of acting is so low on this show that if she just shows up glaring and spitting out her lines, as she did for most of her AMC run, she will be seen as an improvement.

The only man I ever remember her having chemistry with was J. Eddie Peck. And that's in 15 years of acting.

Mathison, to his credit, works quite a bit. Otherwise I think he would have washed up on Y&R by now.

I think one of the reasons why Greenlee was hard to identify with was because towards the end of her run she had everything she ever wanted. So there was no real reason to sympathize with her. Back when she had Becca, Gillian, Bianca and to a lesser extent early Kendell to fight against she was in a much better place to have the audience root for her -- because there was some conflict that kept her in check. But towards the end she had no one to bring her down to make her a relatable figure. I actually do think Greenlee was a sympathetic figure, more so during her earlier days, but by 2005 that goodwill had all but dried up and it never returned with her subsequent returns.

I never rooted for her back then. She still had everything - she was rich and successful. She spent her time whining about Daddy and tossing out homophobic slurs.

Carl, can you make us a list of actors/actresses/shows/etc. that you DO like? ;)

I like plenty of actors and I've praised them repeatedly. Hell, my avatar is based on an actor I like.

If I'm negative about most actors on current soaps, that's because most of them suck or I just don't care enough to praise them.

Q I know you despise her and all but that's no excuse for not having your facts straight. She's been in 3 feature films since AMC, 2 of which are critically acclaimed & on the major festival circuit. CHECK HER OUT in "Lies I Told My Little Sister" and "Desires of the Heart" & repent thanks

There's also nothing wrong with participating in web series especially ones surrounding stars we all recognize in this community. And those are non-paying? Seriously, says who?
