Whoopi Goldberg is so detestable and disgusting, racing to defend every criminal she can find. 14 women now have come forward and she has questions for the women, and then on a women's talk show to imply there is something fishy because they didn't run right to the police...hasn't Whoopi listened to 20 years worth of Oprah lectures about how often women don't report it?

First it was the dog killer, Michael Vick, and how he being the Eichmann of dogs was a actually a black thing, then it was her idiotic defense of Mel Gibson, and now here she is again. How many times must this woman be wrong before ABC asks her to shut up?

I have to disagree with you in this case. Whoopi didn't rush to defend anything, she simply did not rush to judgement, she said she wanted to reserve judgement until she had more facts. She said "I hope that there is justice for this lady, I hope somebody gets to the bottom of this, but I'm gonna reserve my judgement". Whoopi has a cool head, and is an intelligent woman. She's making sense. What I see from the general public, and this outright condemnation before any evidence is brought forth is the same sheep-like, mob mentality that allowed the Salem witch trials to happen, and allowed Adolph Hitler to come to power. People get outraged about something and just lose any brain they had left. In this specific case, you see people pissed that Bill Cosby called out a certain segment of the community for tearing down what his generation marched and died for to achieve, and they are salivating at the thought of bringing him down because they don't want to be "told what to do".... but what they really don't want to do is face up to their shortcomings, and admit their role in their own oppression, which Bill's generation did so much to tear down, and today's generation is trying like hell to build back up out of sheer laziness. Respect is something that is earned in life, you aren't just entitled to it by going around sucking up all the oxygen.

I have a hard time taking Whoopi Goldberg serious whenever it comes to rape allegations because of her own views on rape. She was the one who claimed that Roman Polanski didn't "rape rape" the girl he was convicted of raping I guess because in Whoopi's eyes it's only real rape when the victim is beaten and held down . I don't think anyone here is naive enough to think that there are not opportunists out there, but I will say the same thing about these women as I said about Anita Hill back years ago. What woman would want that kind of publicity, would want themselves subjected to the venom of public opinion for these types of allegations. I won't judge Cosby, we have courts for that, but please keep in mind that several of these women were allegedly raped before it became more acceptable to come forward and even now they can't escape the attacks people are making towards them.

I don't know why the general public has such a disbelief that popular persona's can commit crimes. Just because it's Bill Cosby, Roman Polanski, even Stephen Collins, doesn't automatically make them guilty no, but it also doesn't automatically absolve them.

Well, when it comes to Collins... we have his admission. That pretty much ends debate on that front. He IS guilty, and deserves all the vitriol that comes his way. Roman Polanski is also guilty, but not as heinous because of extenuating circumstances. I see Whoopi's point, to her, there are different levels of rape, just like there are different level of murder, 1st degree, 2nd degree, and manslaughter. Like it or not, Whoopi differentiates between "forcible rape", and "statutory rape". And I agree with her, anyone who doesn't, to me, has a very simplistic mind.

I've actually been a fan of Burress' for years. He tends towards the absurd in his comedy and some of it lands better than others but I've always liked him. I consider a part of that comedian/social commentator group like Aisha Tyler, W. Kamau Bell, Hari Kondubolu (sp?), and Baratunde Thurston. I doubt he had any idea he would spark such a discussion. He's been telling that joke about Cosby for months. It's telling to me to see people who say "I've never heard of the guy so I don't care what he says." That's about as close-minded and ignorant as you can get.

Well, people in your community with real life experience agree with me, so I know that I'm not off base. But go ahead and elevate the negative if it makes you feel good. You'll only hurt yourself.

    • Melissa Ordway announced she was moved to recurring back in November but is still credited with the contract cast members.
    • I think of Evan as a smarmy bast*rd. Maybe you'll like that description. You certainly have him pegged correctly since he is just a soldier following "Admiral" Iris's marching orders.
    • So far the only interest I've seen from Evan to Amanda has been listening to Iris's orders to go and seduce her.  So far he hasn't been successful... but who knows. Amanda is unbearable at times. Entitled, spoiled... idiotic. Iris... so blatantly manipulating her and Amanda takes the bait. But I guess... when she gets in trouble... she'll have a chance to learn. That's what makes these shows so interesting.    Oh, no, don't worry. You haven't ruined a thing. Evan has not been on my radar that much... he was not one of the characters I was caring particularly... so nothing much has been changed for me. I don't think he has the stuff to ruin Rachel's life. He's just a pretty guy that can follow orders. Iris on the other hand... is dangerous.

P.S Maybe Evan will surprise me. Who knows.
    • The show has gone back to 10/10 entertainment! I'm glad that I was right in feeling that what were experiencing were growing pains. I'm sure they are not over yet, but I'll know that we always comeback to quality drama. I think it's going to be a hell of ride (in a good way) from this moment on. BTG has that magic that not a lot of shows have. I'll update more... when I'm done catching up.
    • So very glad to hear this. Yesterday I suddenly thought; OMG, what about spoilers, have I just  ruined things for Maxim in getting carried away with interest in Evan, who was so well-written & well-acted. BTW, your fan review of this episode was a sight for eyes that had not seen one of these for a little bit too long, LOL!!!  Mitch is also fascinating to me but in his case it's because he was all in with Janice & her nefarious plan & then he did this turnabout we've mentioned & he basically got off scot-free.
    • It does seem cheap and lazy for this show to have just one family. Passions was heavily criticized but it was nicely structured with a total of four families.
    • I think it was definitely a surprising reveal in the storyline. I had a hard time appreciating Evan because I couldn't get behind his interest in Amanda. But that's because I never thought Sandra Ferguson made her a compelling character (although to give her credit she occasionally had decent emotional scenes with Mac or Rachel).
    • I'll even go further... I'll make her re-think BeLief and create a new patent. Brooke needs stuff to do. Anything other than beg or be in her panties. We need her to be creative. But sadly Bradley has a very low opinion of these characters. To him Brooke is nothing more than sex and scandal... or a pathetic doormat. Ridge is nothing more than a chauvinist pig that needs to pit women against each other to feel like A MAN and Steffy is nothing more than her father's guard-dog. I don't even want to open my mouth about Hope. She is such a fiasco in my opinion... I will not suffer if they kill her off. Bradley pooped on her character and now it's too late to fix it. Annika is great and I would hate to see her go, but slutty Hope was not her thing. The vibe was missing.
    • I've seen Jason interact with Mitch and annoy him. That's as far as I recall. I didn't even have a slight idea that Evan had a vendetta against Rachel... That came as a surprise to me. I thought Evan was Iris's dog and that's it. Now he's definitely more interesting.
    • Thanks for these. I can't recall -- did Evan's vendetta have any position on Mitch, or was it all about Rachel? @Maxim have you seen any Frames intreracting with Mitch in any way?
