This is basically the same writing team from when Archer debuted on OLTL

Archer was discovered and hired in July 2001 by Gary TomlIn when he was exec producer. Tomlin-whitesell-Broderick were all part of OLTL at the time. Ironically tomlin was the only exec producer to ever win an Emmy for best show for OLTL. I am sure tomlin has huge say so in hiring Melissa as he loved her. Natalie was his spitfire.

I am wondering if Serena is a code name as well. Archer can't replace Sweeney but she's a spitfire. Someone suggested Bree Williamson as belle would be fabulous. I could see Bree as Belle.

When I first heard AS was leaving, I thought Melissa Archer would be a good replacement. She has the same mid level acting abilities as AS and a similar intensity about her expression. The show will have a gap if Sami leaves. If MA took over the role, the character will still be generating story and if Alison Sweeney wants to come back, they can replace her.

Thanks for saying that. It's Been a long time since I watched DAYS but I couldn't see Belle being that old. Not that BW is decrepit or anything.
