Moffat probably felt extremely uncomfortable as the Sherlock wins were surprising, and he only went because of the fiasco that was the BAFTA/Radio Times win for Doctor Who where no one recognizable was there.

I didn't have a problem with Meyers comedy and chuckled a couple of times. That said it wasn't LOL funny, but I didn't expect that.

The in Memoriam left out a lot of people, but that's par for the course.

Usually when there is a streak of wins year after year it means nothing new is good enough to knock out a win. The Emmy's tend to skew towards newer shows that have tons of buzz around it. Look at how many nominations Orange Is The New Black received. On that same note the Emmy's tend to forget and overlook individuals who aren't continuously nominated year after year. Look at the actresses from Grey's Anatomy and Desperate Housewives over the years -- when there was always usually one or two nominated year after year until they were forever snubbed. So if an actor or actress just stops submitting themselves, they are pretty much acknowledging they are never going to be nominated again for their work on that television series for the duration of the shows shelf-life. It would be one thing to not submit yourself one year, and then forever lose your chance at ever winning the award again for the next 5 or 7 years.

All of the nominations for the Primetime Emmy's are interconnected and show strong correlation for each other. So if a show tends to win one thing, it usually tends to win another.

OITNB is going to be that show that gets nominations in the beginning because it "should," but it'll probably win just one of the big ones at some point before getting fewer and fewer nominations with each year. Desperate Housewives, anyone?

Forcing it into the comedy categories did a huge disservice to its cast, ESPECIALLY if they do it again next year. Yes, the show can be hilarious, but it was overwhelmingly a drama in season 2, and those great dramatic performances will never be honored if they're stuck in the comedy box.

    • At this point Y&R's next step is to go fully green screen and have the actors Zoom from home.
    • I was just taking about this in the Y&R thread - they desperately need better studio space.
    • Errol posted that Ed Scott retired

    • Hopefully they can expand some of the sets again. I watched some 04/05 episodes and forgot how much more grand the production used to feel. I wonder if YR will be staying put or going there or somewhere else as well.
    • DAYS posted the recipe! https://www.instagram.com/p/DKiMVZvuZje/ dayspeacock June 5, 2025 Tomorrow is National Donut Day! Here’s Alice Horton’s famous recipe! #NationalDonutDay #Donuts #Recipe #DOOL #Days #Daysofourlives #TBT Ingredients: 2 eggs 1 cup of sugar 1 cup of milk 5 tablespoons melted shortening 1-teaspoon vanilla extract 4 cups all-purpose flour, sifted before measuring 4 teaspoons baking powder ½ teaspoon salt 1 stick butter, melted Cinnamon Sugar In a large bowl, beat the eggs until foamy. Gradually add sugar, beating constantly. Stir in milk, shortening and vanilla. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add to the wet ingredients, mixing well. Cover and chill the dough for 30 minutes to one hour for easier handling. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Spray baking sheet with vegetable cooking spray. Roll out or pat the dough on a lightly floured board to a half inch thickness. Cut with a doughnut cutter. Place the doughnuts and holes on the baking sheet, one inch apart. Bake for 10 – 15 minutes or until golden brown. Brush each doughnut and doughnut holes with melted butter and roll in Cinnamon Sugar to coat all sides. Makes about 36 doughnuts. Cinnamon Sugar: 1 cup of sugar 1 teaspoon of cinnamon In a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon, blending well.
    • "Jordan and Robert have the best brother chemistry. " They certainly did!  And that chemistry worked no matter who served as the protagonist in a given scene or story.  A shame that a full-blown story was never developed for those two.  Wouldn't have needed to be adversarial, either.  Maybe a serious, unexpected, long-term outside threat, business or personal, to one of the brothers with the other coming to his aid.

I was able to find most of them. I am not sure if you did 1974-1977 but I did not find it in the 70s thread. This is an amazing resource for EVERY soap.  1973 https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/41800-ratings-from-the-70s/page/78/#comments 1973 more research https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/41800-ratings-from-the-70s/page/80/#comments 1973 Update https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/41800-ratings-from-the-70s/page/82/#comments 1978 https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/50145-ratings-from-the-80s/page/135/#comments 1979-1988 https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/50145-ratings-from-the-80s/page/115/#comments 1989  https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/50145-ratings-from-the-80s/page/122/#comment-1876530 1990-1999  https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/58300-ratings-from-the-90s/page/11/#comments 2000-2004  https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/58300-ratings-from-the-90s/page/58/#comments
    • Mrs. H used the donuts to distract from the expensive jewels that she hid in the walls of her kitchen.  Now, it all makes sense...

I thought a smart cookie like Caroline Brady would've had the chance to hide a bauble of her own from her dalliance with Victor.
