Even if the Emmy doesn't mean anything in regards to talent it can still be recognized as a barometer of who is a "big star" in the Daytime world. It wouldn't surprise me if over the next few years Brady transitions into becoming the new leading man of Days. But yes Eric has been incredibly wooden over the past few weeks/months.

Boring promo. Kristen's return is a disappointment so far. I hate that she's tied to Brady.

Yeah, three weeks in to a 12-week arc and it's been beyond boring. They are only featuring the "Kristen" caricature - zero depth - just lots of screaming and empty DiMera threats. Extremely disappointing. Seriously, the whole Daniel thing could've been done in two-episodes and it could've been Kristen's plot to HAVE Daniel bring her in. Fighting and threatening EJ? Ugh. That was painful to watch. Better - Kristen to EJ that she's there because Stefano sent her to help him get company back AND despite what "Father" wants, she's going to help him get Sami back. At this point, the only thing that will save this arc is Kristen's revelation that she had a kid, so that she can drop that bomb on Marlena.
