The character itself is more than welcomed imho i just dont think the original actress clicked. At least she didnt with me. If she stuck longer maybe i would have changed my mind along the way but i cant honestly say that I would want the actress back.

And yeah I agree that there are a lots of characters past their prime but i know we will disagree on which ones :P

Thank you! I mean anything can flip at anytime in soaps, we all know this but its "too many" details in stories that just flip anyway the wind blows here. I can't invest in anything, hey it might change in the next eppy...This has gotten ridiculous....

I can not follow/understand R.C's story telling I've tried for two years its hard to believe he's been in this business so many years, an emmy winning head writer that makes the big bucks...can't see it on my screen..... IMO he's like an amateur.

Re: FanFiction

There are some quite decent writers who have turned into published novelist who started out in fan fiction. Many began with me writing Liason fanfiction back in the early 2000 eg Sienna Mynx a romance novelist who begin writing JoVan fan fiction has this series Battaglia....you'd be surprised at these authors. They also have a slew of authors @Valents "The Chamber" website who has picked up publishers.

Look at 50 Shades a best selling trilogy that is horridly written, repetitive (even misspelled words) and for the most part makes no sense... it was her first book. Black Dagger Brotherhood is a ripoff of hood fiction...some authors just get lucky.

I am a huge Brad fan and I usually love everything about Brad and Britt scenes. While i thought there was some good interactions between them yesterday I unfortunately thought the material overall fell flat. It had all the making of a scott sickles episode. Lots of plot points thrown in together to justify future storylines.

I like that Brad is pushing Britt to get re-connected with her inner Britch but i think the set up is way too manufactured to be believable.

This. This right here is why I call RC a bad writer. There's no reason to invest in anything he writes when even he doesn't invest in anything he writes. There's no stakes, no consequences, no building on what came before for layers or context. It's the soap equivalent of a variety show.

This post just cracks me up, especially the bold laugh.pnglaugh.pnglaugh.png

Yep! No information being shared here! Ridiculous!!!

It was really good seeing real Britta and not that pod person. Love her calling fake Lizzard out on her thirst. Lizzard only fights for a guy when someone else has him no matter who pens this show.

Lulu misdiagnosed? That's one helluva mistake? How many uteri does she have up in there to make such an error?

Duke queening out is the perfect description for that mess yesterday. It was just awful but fitting for that clown Buchanan!

Ahhhh! The land where what you see today will be gone tomorrow! What a damn hack!

I didn't watch, and haven't watched, but just from recaps and posts, Brad and Britt seem to have become kind of gimmicky. They had the whole PnL thing over Sam falling on the red carpet, and now they're calling Liz names that were extracted directly from twitterfeed and various boards. That seems to be the primary purpose of their scenes a lot of the time.

Truth!

I usually enjoy B&B in any capacity and yesterday was no exception. But the set up was too forced imho.

I would have taken Brad trying to get around Bobbie to sneak into Lucas' room over this in a second.

And I cringe at the idea that Britt's super power for evil will be wasted on trying to win the king of nothing back.

There was too many heavy anvils being dropped for me to fully enjoy it.

Britta in Lizzard's face was grand, but Britta being convinced by that idiot, Brad, to fight for Nik? REEEEEEdiculous! Nik all but spit in Britta's face, but I gotta say, it smacks of old school vixen. Knowing a man would rather be anywhere but with you yet continue to pursue him because you know he's weak and stupid and will eventually cave? I've seen it a thousand times. That is old school soap there, so we will see how this plays out. Until then, I will just roll with the potential of the story because that's all we ever really get :(

Hallelujah to the lamb!

One of my biggest complaints about RC's stories is that they are truly anything but. He obviously knows how to throw enough "shocking twists" and "surprise revelations" at you to keep you talking, but does all the rug-yanking ever add up to anything? So much [!@#$%^&*] has gone down in Port Charles since he came aboard, yet I never know what any of it is about or what overall purpose it serves the show.

    • No to Andre/Ashley. I'm not sensing any connection. Kat is playing a dangerous game going against Silk Press Sheila.
    • Today was definite a good episode day with surprising 1:1 scenes between Bill/Silk Press Sheila & SPS/Kat.  And the final long scene between SPS/Kat with the close ups and cliffhanger reminds me so much of old school P & G/Bell soaps. It fits since Judy Tate (script writer) wrote for P & G soaps for years and Zimmerman (breakdown writer) worked on both Bell soaps. I even liked the Ashley/Derek scenes only because it feels as if there is a point to the scenes (lead up to a break up perhaps).  Andre/Ashley having a scene tells me that the show is still testing them out.. and I think showing the growing disconnect between Derek/Ashley will eventually lead to the two possibly dating. NuTed.. he seems more humble and less boastful/confident than the previous Ted.  Perhaps the show felt the previous Ted couldn't play remorse/humble.. and they made the switch.  Time will tell. Lastly... it was a Dani free day

    • Goulet also had an odd way of speaking - very clipped and brisk, like she had just gotten out of a '40s film. She sounded out of breath. She had this on all her soaps. She was a better actress than Tolan and did well enough with Mary's grief over her marriage in her final week or two in the part but had no real spark.  I agree they may have found a better Mary if they had tried harder. For some reason the recasting for the Ryan kids was never what it should have been. I don't know what was going on with Barbie Siobhan. Maybe that was ABC.
    • The finale peaked at 31.1 rating when Katherine hit Bobby with her car.
    • Exactly. And it's not like Stephanie didn't live a life when Hennig played her.  There are so many stories and relationships you can mine from her past.  And we just got......a book and sex with Alex or the random Bobby backstory which no one needed  I trust new writing can get the character back on track.  Like I said, I do think Abigail Klein has charisma.
    • Today (Thurs May 15) eppy not on paramount *menu* but it's on cbs.com. If you take the cbs episode URL and substituted paramountplus for cbs in the same URL, you get the episode on pplus https://www.cbs.com/shows/video/Huj7bAYV8H6T038u9cXam3bk6QXNkM2Y/ https://www.paramountplus.com/shows/video/Huj7bAYV8H6T038u9cXam3bk6QXNkM2Y/
    • Really good episode today. Even the characters who usually annoy me, like Chase and Brook Lynn, got some sweet scenes. I also appreciate that they're finally giving Lucky more to do, letting him in on Ric & Ava's blackmail scheme. And those Liz and Lucas scenes were fantastic;  Van Hansis has been bringing such playfulness to the role of Lucas, he brings out the best in scene partners like Laura Wright and Becky Herbst. It was also nice to get Liz's perspective on why her romantic rapprochment with Lucky is moving so slow; it makes perfect sense that she thinks he's not really capable of settling down, even if he wants to be with her.
    • I thought Keith did great as well. His scene with Colby was what sold me. He displayed the emotions that a man who knows he's made a mistake and wants to rectify should have. Its funny how Maurice has been given passes in his acting that other actors have not. What Keith has shown me is that he can atleast keep up with the ladies in his story instead of them acting circles around him when Maurice was playing the role.
    • Also Murder, She Wrote season 3 finale was the week before.
