I hope she is portraying nina as genuinely trying to make sense of having spent twenty years in a coma. She is acting like a very naive 20 something and thats a contrast to the 40 something she actually is.

I know rc wont be able to resist turning Nina into Phylis 2.0 but I would rather Nina remained the polar opposite of who i hear she played on YR.

As a. Viewer not very familiar with her work (other than Pacific palissades 15 years ago lol) I am really interested with her acting choices.

She must be lulling Silas into a state of false security, thereby making the "boom" she's going to lower that much more devastating.

Or...she's on crack.

Nina is such a caricature! It cracks me up that Sam can't stop talking about how 'beautiful' she is. And she can't stop talking about how the years have been 'good' to Silas. UHM WHAT?! She's in a wheelchair and acting like she just discovered the world. And Michelle Stafford's acting is so inauthentic with no subtlety. Especially her doe and puppy dog eyes!

Is it wrong that I want Nina on five days a week?

Stop beating up on my guy! It's making me feel bullied! wink.png To be fair he may look like an "anorexic ostrich" to you now but 20 years ago he was bangin'. Not every man can age like David Canary.

And since I'm posting UOs, I think Stafford is playing Nina pretty well. She's playing her as an insecure 20 year old who is trying to recapture the life taken from her yet at the same time I can see signs of wealthy entitlement. I don't watch Y&R so I have no history with Phyllis either way. I'm just judging her on what I saw and I give it a thumbs up so far.

I think she's playing closet crazy, but that's me.

I don't think Michelle Stafford is untalented, but she's one of many big soap personalities who I can only take in doses. GH is not conducive to giving their players careful doses of airtime unless you're an expensive longtime veteran or you're in danger of making a former castmember of One Life to Live redundant. All things considered, I would have been happier seeing her play a new doctor, or someone to tussle with Carly or ELQ or something. An old business grifter/executrix like the ones GH used to have. One of the later, lesser examples of this would be Mary Beth Evans as Katherine - she wasn't terribly popular but, until the Stefan debacle, she seemed to be pretty well-received as a scheming vixen, the opposite of Kayla Brady.

Im with you Marceline about Nina. This is exactly how i feel MS is playing the part and i find her rather convincing. I think Nina expects people to want her to be the same so she might be exagerating the nice behaviour but I dont see her as scheaming or fake.

The poor woman has to get used to 20 years of changes when she feels only a few weeks passed. I hope she remains a nice person (but with an edge) and doesnt turn Glen Close on SiAm.

I think it could be interesting if she fell for Patrick. There is already a thinly veiled rivalry between dr drake and dr clay and it could be a nice set up for future storylines.

Yeah she did well, she and Felix supported Sabrina and Patrick she was crying profusely. I think she cried more for Blanket then she did when her son Stan died.

Re: Garin Wolfe. First they had Wolfe solo I thought Shelly Altman was added as co-HW w/Wolfe along the way.....not sure if Karen Harris was also there. Its hard to say if I liked Wolfe or not because its been said that Frons was all in it during his stint. He highly influenced his writing eg changing things, the arcs he wanted/story direction.

As for Levi he doesn't really bother me, I'm not a huge Maxi fan anyway but I now know how Ron writes (I didn't watch OLTL) so I can only go by GH....like most soap writers do....to train you to root for who he wants you to his writing for that is heavy handed ...with no wiggle room. So Levi (like Britt was) is a world class jerk...not surprising. If they want Levi' to stay he'll be redeemed (like Britta, Franco etc).

Levi's has 2 sole purposes, 1. to make me root for (Maxi) w/Det. Oilspill...who is the hero and Levi is the zero. Ron's writing is quite basic for me he offers seasoned soap watcher no challenges. His writing IMO is geared for his new audience who doesn't know any better.

Since I'm not a fan of Silas (or MS) or his storyline I think Nina will evolve from this debutante phase fairly quickly. I agree that she could wind up a Cassadine.

Carlos is the fall gay for AJ's murder in jail for a crime he didn't commit? Did he confess to keep Saabbreeena safe from Ava? Anyway...Adios!

Speaking of Maxie's lovelife, the last time I really shipped a Maxie pairing was Robyn Richard's Maxie and Zander.

They can't seem to find a balance with Maxie. They keep throwing either 'good-looking' men with no personality at her (eg. Jessie, Cooper, "Detective Oilspill"), or, there was Spinelli, who was too much personality, and Maxie kind of appropriated it and bad things happened to her.

I think there was a possibility that I could have gotten into Johnny and Maxie, if they had written a story there, or done anything with Johnny that wasn't disappointing.

I guess I feel as though Maxie's love life over the past decade has been a giant waste, which is sad, because she's a legacy character, and I think the audience could really get behind a Maxie pairing with the right partner.
