I thought the episode was fantastic. Loved the long scene in the end with Cookie and Lucious. I like each week we're seeing them basically falling for each other again. Terrence Howard was excellent this episode showing his admiration, adoration, etc. for Cookie.

I liked all the character development we got. We definitely learned more about Anika and her relationship with Lucious, Andre and his relationship with Lucious. Tianna grew a ton as a character.

And every week Hakeem just looks more and more ... young. He's young and cocky and I'm ready to see that come down on him at some point.

Jamal worked my nerve too a little bit in the episode but once he was down on the streets and watching his expression as the song came to him, he got me back.

I thought it was a very solid episode. Glad the ratings are stable!

The stuff with Jamal was the only weak part of the episode for me. It was just so cliched. One night in Brooklyn and suddenly Jamal's all street? Of course I have to remind myself that when episodes were filmed they didn't know if they'd even see the end of season one so they didn't have time to give us a couple of episodes of Jamal's evolution.

I agree for a slow episode it was actually satisfying and In a way its better to go this route rather than the Greys Anatomy/Scandal "OMFG" route where every week the audience is expecting some big shocking moment.

And I think differences of opinions are more than welcome so I hope no one stops posting or feels uncomfortable posting because of that....

Last night's episodes did wonders for Anika. She's still not Cookie but at least I don't loathe her anymore and like I was telling my friend she actually surprised me. I'm glad they didn't go the obvious route.

I just thought it showed Jamal trying to find something to do and get out of the apartment to clear his head. While he was walking around he got rid of the block. But then again, you might be right. They made a big deal of Hakeem not knowing how to struggle and not being about that life. Juxtapose that against Jamal being "poor" and walking the streets and seeing the sights and hearing the sounds of the people helping him out, it does come across that way.

By the way, did anyone notice the way Jamal was walking. Was he affecting some sort of "cool pose" to blend in. Trying to switch, so to speak.

I thought it was even funnier that one night and Brooklyn and he went from 'I'm going to take his empire' to dispirited apathy. I thought it was realistic and yet I was glad to see him snapping out of it.

I also didn't believe that Hakeem wouldn't have seen Lucious coming when he handed over those concert passes. It was a cute scene though and i was glad Hakeem didn't raise too much of a fuss. I also like it that Lucious has a soft spot for Becki.

Right? As soon as Hakeem gave those passes to Lucious I thought, "Child have you met your father?!" Anybody would know that those passes were gone the moment Lu got his hands on them. I like Lucious and Becki together. Conversely, I despise Porsha. I'm all for having some comic relief for Cookie to play off of but I need Cookie's assistant to at least be competent.

Taraji looked gorgeous last night!

I actually liked that song Keep It Movin' but I really live or when Yazz/Bryshere comes in and now I'm all singing his part.

Jamal, oh Jamal.... I didn't like that pity party and hopefully we see some more fun stuff from him.

I was crying at Hakeem and Camilla when Tianna walked in and she told him amateur move. All I could think about was has this boy not seen, How To Be A Player?

    • Ted has been icky and giving off bad guy vibe from the first moment I saw him. I have a sensor for that and it was beeping! So...don't put all the blame on Silkpress. The woman needs a good psychiatrist, true... but Leslie is just one of the skeletons in HIS closet. Ted is even a bigger monster, because he's hidden.  IT WAS A PERFECT REVEAL. Perfect, because in the beginning of the show... Dani was envying her sister's marriage... In these first few messy weeks... her own misery and life spiraling was contrasted to the picture-perfect marriage Nicole and Ted seemed to have. (on first glance). What happened now... is very very smart writing. THIS IS THE MOMENT THE MASKS ARE FALLING! The message it delivers to me is this. It says - no matter how things look... they are not what they seem. You can't judge a marriage by how it appears to be. Aaaand in the long run... maybe the messiest-looking people (Dani Dupree, I'm talking about you!) HAVE less issues and problems than the ones that seem to have it all. The ones with the MOST skeletons in the closets and the dirty pasts.   It was an AHA moment for the whole family and the viewers and a way forward for Dani and Nicole to bond even more and realize they are MORE alike than they are different. Now it will be quite a different dynamic, because Dani will have to SUPPORT someone and not be the one getting her wounds licked always. And also another lesson. Some men are dogs. Not all of them. But a lot of them are. The difference is... some can't be easily recognized. These creeps have put very impressive masks. The show is doing this perfectly. Beat by beat. Exploring classic soap opera themes and stories. Real-life characters and situations, that are relatable and make you think... Hmm... maybe I need to dig a little deeper next time I say "these people are perfect" or otherwise. Maybe I need to think MORE. That type of storytelling. It's not easy to do that.  Brava BTG.  B-R-A-V-A!
    • I speculate that Nicole will go through cycles of numbness/grief/rage.  At some point later on, regardless of DNA results (or faked results), whether there was a baby swap or not, I think Nicole will forgive Eva, and eventually love her someday.  Nicole will come to understand that Leslie gaslighted/manipulated Eva.  Nicole will be her loving self, although more guarded than before.   Just my thoughts.
    • Lol. That comment was just silly.  I feel like The Guiding Light started it when they made me love Roger Thorpe. Leslie is pussycat in comparison and there is a lot of story to go  for her and Eva.
    • Your posts continue to amuse me. I don't know anyone else who thinks Leslie and Eva should "hightail it out of town."  And listen, soaps have been FOR DECADES keeping around villains who we know would be jailed in real life. So is it crazy to think "they are just going to let this slide"? No. It's kind of hilarious to watch you take everything that happens on this show and distort it or lead me to think, "Huh???"
    • I can't even count the amount of magazine covers and photoshoots KKL has been in the past few months. Shame that the show is not mirroring the success she's having. It would have been so great to see both KKL and Brooke be on top.  I'm still holding a grudge that Brad rewrote the company take-over to a nothing... and then nulled Brooke to being a romance beggar again.
    • I'm also getting an error that I haven't seen before, but there's been a couple of different variations, so not going to worry about it for now.
    • Finally got to sit down and watch. Wow!  When LesDanLuAnn said to Ted, this your daughter. I started tearing up...... Eva got me.  I felt like I was watching a soap opera.

    • The drag was when Tad and Edmund went to Budapest (?) in 1997 to get Maddie back from Dimitri.
