Partially because Lucious lets her when it suits him. Then part of it is just putting up a front, so that Cookie doesn't realize how easy it would be to walk right back in and reclaim her life (Not much drama in that). She wouldn't have been parading around in her underwear if she were married to Lucious. That was a sad attempt to mark her territory.

Also, Anika does do a pretty good strategic retreat when she needs to. Ask yourself if you would have given up your chair to Cookie, if that was really your house and your husband. Anika did, because she didn't think Lucious would back her if she put up a fight.

Does anyone think Cookie was gay for the stay? I feel like they are implying that with the way she looked Kitty up and down and said she made her hot.

I would about die if Debbi Morgan got on this show. Make it happen, Lee Daniels! But it would cut like a knife, too, since Debbi ran daytime on AMC two summers ago. It is a travesty that show is not still on.

I'd love to see Debbi show up as an old cellmate of Cookie's, complete with prison flashbacks. I'd have Darnell show up as Lucious' gay cousin/uncle who finally came out of the closet because Jamal decided to.

Oh Lawd. This show is going to be a fanfic writer's paradise. LOL!

I don't think that Lucious was testing Cookie. Not even a little bit. He placed her at the head of his table because that's where he wants her to be and that's where he feels she belongs. It's her place. Don't let him fool you.

And also think that Lucious enjoys the way that Cookie behaves while at the same time thinking that he shouldn't.

    • They're neither great nor terrible AFAIK, but it is more a question of the streaming numbers in this day and age vs. actual TV airings. The Chibnall era reminded me much more of the crisis years, but I do think it's a very real possibility now as well due to the streaming bubble collapse affecting the show and its prospects.
    • ANYTHING to get her off the screen..she COULD have been interesting if she and Van had a few face offs..(there was a mild one of her going back to work...but I wanted something meatier "Bitch, I am Vanessa Chamberlain and I don't take advice from someone who followed the..career path you did!" I did like Alex's outright disdain for her.
    • Thanks @Vee for the commentary.    I haven’t even watched this season yet after  I couldn’t get past the couple episodes last season…like it was too Disneyified for my taste, although I did think it was a least better than the Chibnall era (but so is a lot of things). I’ll probably go back and binge it now. Hoping this season ends on a high note. I did read the ratings are terrible. As it stands I’m beginning to feel like what long time DW fans felt with S26 in 1989.
    • Yes, they are all on contract. Next.
    • I also never understood Alex's friendship with Sonni or keeping the secret of Marah's paternity.  Not exactly heartbroken about Ms. Sally being ushered to the Hereafter.

I'm sorry but I'm a glutton for punishment. Would love to see this woman OWNING the canvas. Telling off Leslie who tells her she's the head b!tch.
    • And in case anyone is confused; Rusty was hired by HB to work undercover and infiltrate some gang sabotaging Lewis.

    • The Dallas finale was the highest-rated episode since October 9, 1987 (Gone with the Wind). Prior to the finale, the last Dallas episode to finish ahead of a new episode of Murder, She Wrote was October 23, 1987 (Tough Love). Prior to the finale, the last Dallas episode to finish ahead of a new episode of The Cosby Show was February 22, 1985 (Shattered Dreams).
