GH: May 2014 Discussion Thread

Trust me, if I was gonna try to respond to every post of that nature I'd have eaten a gun well over a year ago. I mostly ignore them. The point is, it's silly to insist on bringing over every single social media post like, 'look what this person said today to Ron, look what Ron said,' especially when it's obviously a joke and when nobody's joking about rape or violence or anything - what are we all supposed to do, act like we think they're being serious and shake our heads in disgust just because we don't like the guy's writing? It's stupid. Focus on the show; they're plenty to critique there.

Ok.

I know the person who said it. It was a joke.

Glad to know it. I'd hate to think anyone seriously felt that way about that scene.

I'd rather pour a drink and read this thread than watch the show.

Why not? We all know this is where Ron gets all his worst story ideas. ;)

I watched the entire prologue for today's episode, which is the first time I watched more than 5 seconds in 6 months or so and judging from what people are saying as well It really has transformed from Godfather to Myra Breckinridge. I thought I was joking the other day when I said that. I only read what others were saying elsewhere along with the daily casting news from spoiler island.

Oh I won't bring any more social media posts over as, I rarely do this may have been a first or a second at the most.

I just thought it was funny moreover, I didn't know its taboo; I just thought if you're not interested do like I've done, politely scroll just not respond but I didn't have to get taken to school about a tweet with a dissertation on the ills of social media . It ain't that serious to be rude...but my bad certainly won't happen again.

As for Ric I didn't realize he wasn't around for Nurses Ball that is something. And I agree Tracey looks stupid. I know it will come out right in the end with this not being Luke but right now they could give her a clue that something is off.

My complaint wasn't about your post; it was more about the aggrieved, artificial melodrama on here surrounding the tweets which were obviously a jest. If I upset you, that I am certainly sorry for.

How bout a drink every time the phrase "Justice for" is used. Justice for Nina, Justice for AJ. The writers need a new catch phrase.

"Justice for GH Fans"?

No, most of the drama has been deleted by now so it just looks random. Still, I shouldn't have taken the bait.

I love intense debates on soap opera forums. Entertainment! So much better than the soap itself. It is hilarious how seriously some people take everything.

I just ignore Ron's tweets. I don't cyberstalk people as gross as he is.

People who talk to themselves for any reason need psych evaluations. Why does everyone on soaps do that sh!t?! Seeing Detective Driftwood do it at the start of the show was ridiculous.

I LOVE that Dr. O is chief of staff again! It's so absurd that it's awesome. If only she would flog Felix and all the other incompetent employees at the hospital. Before firing them.

I don't know if I'd rather see Levi or those bratty kids. I'm 50/50 at this point.

So Ned's master plan to get Luke away from Tracy is to have that twit Kiki hit on Luke?! Mmk now.

No matter how silly the scenes were, I'm happy I got to see Kevin, Lucy, and especially Bobbie!

The show has gone so up its own ass with these little kids.

I've said again and again that I don't mind soap kids having little storylines, that I find Spencer and Emma amusing in controlled doses and I don't mind them, but all these little kids' lines are just written by middle-aged women and gay men, and it is so [!@#$%^&*] obvious. It's there to amuse themselves, it has nothing to do with what's appropriate for the story or characters who are that young. It's not that I find it vulgar or inappropriate so much as it's just so vacuously glib, it's all overly precocious [!@#$%^&*] no kid that age would say. I know these incessant one-liners must cut the crew up BTS, but what kid that age knows Oprah and Gayle? 'Tripping the light fantastic?' If you're going to write wit could it at least be wit that doesn't totally puncture any illusion of a character? David Vickers could've gotten away with all of this on OLTL, but David Vickers was a severely metrosexual man in his forties! Why do they do this? I can take humor - I enjoyed the supporting players looking on in horror at Mac and Mr. Marbles (Lucy, Felicia, Anna and Duke's facial reactions were great) - but there's a point when too much is way too [!@#$%^&*] much.
