How is this a slap in MM's face? Even MM said in his exit interview that they were going to recast in six months, which is just above the timetable.

Agreed

In fact MM said 3-6 months there would be a new Adam on YR

Pretending they are casting someone else with a fake name that's basically the same name.

I wasn't tlaking about the recast in general. Especially on daytime everyone is aware that he/she can be replaced in a heartbeat in 99% of all cases.

I still don't understand how/why it would be a slap in the face. I don't think JFP/Y&R even cares that much to do something that would specifically smart MM. Maybe I'm mistaken but I feel like some effort has to be made for them to do something just to sting MM-- at this point, I honestly don't think they care. JMO, but I think they are as indifferent to MM's feelings at this point as they are to disguising the name.

I do think they're having fun though.

I wonder though...

perhaps they're trying to 'sex up' Adam a bit with the next iteration? Maybe they want charismatic persona over sociopath? Yes, it would be a total whitewash considering how terrible they made him. If they're attempting to do this, I prefer the idea of the poster who suggested that the previous Adam was an impostor and the real Adam was in some other country in a remote setting. I'm sure this will never happen though since TPTB are obviously insistent on Connor being Victor's heir.

Fake names when re-casting are common place in daytime drama. Not just exclusive to YR. Its not a slap in anyone's face.

We know it's inevitable that they will bring this character back but I definitely wish they'd take at least six months before they do.

Even if they do find a suitable actor, I don't see them putting together a compelling (okay, maybe compelling is too high an expectation for Y&R these days) story in which to stage a return of this character. They'd be better off waiting as long as possible.

Yeah. Like twenty years.

Don't miss him either, huh?

Let me put it this way: as wonky as the "He isn't the REAL Adam Newman" idea might sound, I'm actually willing to ignore why it WOULDN'T work if it meant starting from scratch with the guy.

I'd rather watch Chris Engen. He was so much better and far more appealing.

The character should be rested for at least 4-6 months. I'd prefer longer, because it seemed when I would watch Y&R that 'actor' was constantly mugging up the screen. Adam Newman himself needs a rest, and an overhaul, IMO. I never bought that 'actor' as a Victor Newman replacement. It was laughable he thought he would be.
