True. But GH has double digits in May. So the numbers are high and they are not much higher for OLTL and AMC vs May. ABC just killing it.

No one was competing with AMC, OLTL, and GH that summer. It was a good move for YR not to be scheduled completely in direct competition to any of these three soaps.

I think Y and R competed against All My Children in June 1981.

In Feb. during its transition to one hour episodes, it was head to head with AMC from 1-2pm. In June, it shifted to an earlier start time of 12:30, putting it up against the low-rating Doctors at the time and Ryan's Hope which was performing reasonably but not at the height of the rest of the ABC lineup. This half hour lead might have been an advantage to YR.

I would be curious to see what the half hour ratings for YR would be at this time.

Y & R always won the 12:30-1PM slot but AMC beat Y and R and DAYS in the 1-130PM slot in June 1981. It was an advantage for Restless. CBS moved Restless to 12:30 to give an advantage so it could beat All My Children and eventually it did. ABC made a mistake in not moving All My Children to 12:30PM and schedule Loving at 1:30-2 in October 1984.

 

Restless destroyed anything in its path at 12:30 EST to 1 PM EST and that has been going on for over 42 years now.

Moving Restless to 1230 against Ryan’s Hope was a smart move.

I still believe AMC should have been moved to 1230 - 130pm against Restless directly and then schedule Loving at 130 pm in October 1984.

Edge is really the little engine that could.....Doctors audience has been cut in half, and it's sad seeing it die out at the bottom of the pack, especially since I honestly don't see a need for the creation of Texas.

What was the date of the GL episode in August 1981 where Nola confesses to Kelly that she lied about the baby?
