The SL is certainly lacking, but I enjoyed yesterday. I can't wait to see Anna and ChiaScott today. As for Heather, she is a clown that can go at any time. However, this is the first time I've enjoyed her because she so cleverly stupid not to see the flaw in her reasoning. In some of her scenes, Heather actually feels wronged by Franco. I think she would have been fine with the attempted murder if FrankenTodd had not done it for Carly's sake.

When I saw the pics Cheap posted yesterday, I was ready to get home, watch and roast FrankenRon, but I found myself actually enjoying it. I was smiling at some of the things Sonny said to FrankenTodd, and then I was kind of feeling FrankenTodd for the first time. I loved the visual of the detectives' theory. Flawed? Absolutely! But it was pretty clever and enjoyable.

The Jerome Sisters bug the !@#$%^&*] out of me and I need at least one gone, preferably Jillian!

since we're on the subject, can we talk about how dumb it is that she has Carly at the Q boathouse. Is there no staff working the grounds? It's ridiculous that she keeps going on the estate unnoticed. It would have made more sense and been less contrived had she taken Carly to an abandoned place in the woods. This screams of them just needing an excuse to use the set

What really gets me is that Monica and AJ talk about the raccoon problem and they have not hired someone to make certain this very destructive raccoon doesn't ruin the boathouse. After those noises, exactly when do you bring someone in?

And really? The Q estate has no cameras or did Heather manipulate those too?

Thursday:

Lulu and Nathan continued to be mind-numbing. "I can't wait to find out what amazing clues you've uncovered." What the hell kind of line is that? Who speaks that way? It was great to see Bobbie once more and have her realize that it's time to call Lucas. Looking forward to him!

I didn’t expect Sonny to be in Franco’s room, so it was a nice little surprise. I thought both actors were much more restrained than I expected but RH was insufferable when he went into that small voice and talked about loving a woman. Still, at least they tried to give Franco some legitimate inner life/feelings/thoughts. And LMAO at Sonny's "you’re gonna be screamiiiiiiiiiing." What the hell kind of line delivery is that? laugh.png

Unless I'm forgetting some prior event, Julian putting the pieces together and figuring out that Lucas is his son was such a non-event, such a horrid anticlimax. You'd think they would at least try to get some juice out of it instead of simply having Julian say he found out the truth. BUT I did think the scenes that dealt with Julian and Ava's father were great. It gave them a human touch and something seemed to click. Interesting that Julian mentioned Lavery and his lunatic sister. How long before they all come to town?

Ava had some funny lines:

Julian: "Do I look like a cop?"

Ava: "No, you’re much better dressed!"

Ava: "Sea turtles make better fathers than Victor Jerome"

I thought the whole theory flashbacks/actual flashbacks thing was a great idea, in THEORY. In execution... not so much. I liked the fact that they had Heather put the pieces together & that we saw characters on the show that work on law enforcement actually do police work. I also liked that Anna wasn't 100% sold. But the acting, production & direction were such a let down. First of all, I recall the side of Carly's car being clean when Heather got out of it. Is that right? That means Heather parked Carly's car and, while Dante, Morgan and Michael were right there, she smeared blood on the side of the car and threw the knife in the trash can and still almost got caught and... oh my. I’m glad they tried to explain where the knife came from but the scenes of Franco stabbing Carly were so unbelievably badly done. At one point, Franco looked like he had stabbed Carly's shoulder?

Heather had her moments, though: "Poor Franco? Poor ME!" And there was a small stretch towards the end were RM got to play some genuine, straight darkness before going back to camp and it was exciting.

    • It was reported that Jane Wyman absence in the final season was due to health (it's documented that Jane was diabetic) but I believe her episodes being cut was a budget mode move. Similar move Dallas pulled in its final season, it was reported that Barbara Bel Geddes retired due to health (it's documented that Barbara had a heart condition) but I say salary dump. Jane Wyman only acted once after Falcon Crest, a 1993 episode of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, but she lived another 14 years after that. Barbara Bel Geddes did not act again after her last episode of Dallas in 1990 but she lived another 15 years after that. The trifecta of suck at Lorimar was Les Moonves, Leonard Katzman, and Michael Filerman. It was a pattern across all three CBS primetime soaps in the off the rails plus budget mode era to salary dump the long-time female cast members and bring on sweet young things hired on the cheap.
    • To be fair, more than half of them are dead now.
    • Kat may be a privileged elitist but that's not entirely true.  Kat first met Eva when Eva was snooping at Nicole's desk, so Kat's first impression of Eva wasn't very good.  Plus, Kat's instinct to not trust Eva was 100% right.  Kat's attitude toward Eva had nothing to do with Eva not "bowing" down to Kat, and her feelings toward her half-sister is very justified......minus the making fun of Eva's clothes of course.
    • They said that this has metastasized to his bones, but the type of "aggressive" prostate cancer he has is actually very common and is treatable, or at least manageable. So the headline is misleading.   Apparently this type of cancer is hormonal which makes it somewhat treatable? But still, of course, sad.  Thinking of him and his loved ones.
    • Kat is a spoiled brat princess and Silk Press Sheila called her out on it.  Silk Press Sheila is someone not to mess with. I was actually scared for Kat when she was alone with Silk Press Sheila and recording their conversation.
    • It is funny that Stephanie and Philip still hide/blush/get embarrassed at the sight of each other.  Meanwhile, Kate's pouring coffee for Rafe at the pub as if they're only casual acquaintances.  Although, if Kate blushed every time she saw one of her former lovers, she'd be permanently red.
    • Great thought.  I mostly forgot about Kate's cancer.
    • I figured because Kate received her cancer treatment at the hospital that she decided to “give back” by being on the board.
    • Someone posted years ago that they remember Pamela Peters (Peggy) was having some sort of issues behind the scenes during the rape storyline and barely participated onscreen when it played out. Trish Stewart (Chris) seemed to carry most of the storyline along with Dick DeCoit (Ron) and David Hasselhoff (Snapper). I think the poster also mentioned that Anthony Hererra (Jack) said that Pamela Peters one day looked into the camera and exclaimed she didn't know what she was doing and walked out of the scene.
