I guess to each his own because I never though CM was sexy. laugh.png

I went from not seeing the appeal to cringing every time I saw his face.

He is not hunky Massey but can't judge until he appears on screen and even then it takes a while to get use to a new person taking over a role. I remember just hating Heather Rattray as Lily when she first appeared at Lucinda's mansion during the Christmas episode but feel in love with her as Lily and felt awful when she left and Martha returned.

I still feel awful about it.

Heather Rattray = Best Lily Ever. I think that was the only time I enjoyed the character.

I did like Heather's take but loved Martha. Did heather quit or was she let go for Martha?

It irks me that somehow it was rewritten that Rattray was somehow a failed recast, when she wasn't.

I remember the soap press liking her, and the character actually showed some signs of an evolution with her in the role, which soon disappeared when Byrne came back.

Heather opted not to renew her contract and ATWT asked Martha if she'd like to return.

Heather had the soft part of Lily that Martha Bryne played yet could be a total bitch/vixen with Babs and others which I loved.

And I loved Lily the business woman.....

I really need to see him on screen because he looks so different in so many shots.

As far as I am concerned, if he can act and come accross less douchebaggy than his predecessor, then I'm good to go.

I love that Heather Rattray crashed this thread. Before I came here I didn't know there were other fans who saw her as the real Lily.

It's funny, it seems like her time on ATWT was completely disregarded by fans and the press when Byrne came back, when she was very popular during her time on the show. I recall the soap press liking her very much back then.

It felt like history was rewitten by those who won (Byrne and her fans in this case). Yes Byrne is the most recognizable person to play the character, but Rattray was a very successful recast. I would have preferred she stayed...

And when Martha returned they made her look like Heather's Lily in fashion and hairstyling.
