actually its something I thought they could have done last year when JL was in the role and she was blaming herself for Robin's death. She was a mess and her mind fractured to take on the role of the prominent dead females in her life. Now? She lost her baby bc she as Maxie has lived a horrible life and is a terrible person so her way of "fixing" herself is to become better women, Georgie, BJ and Robin. Of course, BJ with her red hair would be all wild and causing trouble. With a name like BJ, she has to live up to it

Knowing Ron though, she was raped by Frisco and that's the real reason he abandoned her when she was 5 years old. Tony found out and blackmailed him and Bobbie knew this whole time. This revelation is going to put her at odds with Felicia when it all comes out

Please, no, I don't care what "great idea" anyone has, no more [!@#$%^&*] DID/multiple personality stories or molestation bullshit. Enough. There is absolutely no good reason to ever do that with Maxie.

See, I disagree completely here. Yesterday was one of Craptini's finest eppies. No, we didn't have someone falling off a roof, or a wife returning from the dead hanging behind a door an entire eppy, Wyndemere hijinks, Wacky villains playing hot potato with the other characters, but we did have a character driven eppy where the characters have decompressed and just talked about the immediate happenings in their lives. GH does not do this often, so I appreciate it when they do. It was a family eppy, and by family, I don't mean the putrid Jeromes.

I didn't ff anything! Don't care for Scott/Lucy, but I enjoyed the scenes. They were good and heartfelt. Yes, there should have been more build up, but otherwise, still good. I didn't find Scotty disgusting or Lucy silly, and that is a large feat for me.

Lante are perfection right now, and injecting CarSon as their sounding boards was absolutely wonderful. The scenes were super very well done, and I could not have asked for more. Emme and LW have great chem and Carly said all of the right things to Lulu (gonna ignore the FrankenTodd stuff for the time being). Dante is hurting because he felt he did what he did for his wife and now she won't communicate with him. Sonny, for once, was a good father! All of this was superb, IMHO! Emme Rylan has a piece of my heart!

I didn't even FF Maxie and Robin. Loved their conversation. Yeah, I'd love for both to meet with gruesome deaths, but they totally fit in yesterday's eppy. Really good cousin scenes! It was nice to see Robin realize she made a mistake by going to Sobby. Robin has grown.

Sam, she bathed and shampooed her hair? Who could ask for more? Curious what was behind it, but then I looked at the calendar and realized it was the 12th of the month. Mystery solved!

Before I go on to the shortcomings of the eppy, I have to mention that John Lindstrom is so damn hot! I never noticed before, but damn! He looks good!

The only drawback in the eppy was Roger Howarth! Not even talking about FrankenTodd. This is on RH and the idiots who have not yet realized he needs to be reigned in. Once again, Roger bring his comedy routine to !@#$%^&*] up what should be good scenes. This was the opportunity to sell this character to the audience. Show us his struggles, fears and longing for a normal life, but what did we get? Roger's super funny slapstick! I was mortified, and I can imagine JL might have been as well. I was beyond disgusted that this continues. There were a few glimpses of an actor, but it was far outweighed by Roger's need to do "his thing". Disgusting! Do TIIC care that Roger [and his free reign] is possibly the biggest reason they are getting so much push back with this character? I still cringe at his initial meeting with Kevin. JL was probably shaking his damn head too. I wanted FrankenTodd in therapy because it would add some depth to this nonstory, but Roger is fighting it tooth and nail. Why?!

No Kaka! No Michael! No Ava! No Julian! No Olivia (too bad she's back) and here's to hoping that the last time we saw Morgan was the last time we saw Morgan!

Yeah, I overall liked yesterday's episode.

Yay ... Lesley's on! Looks like she's ticked about the Faison thing, as she should be. I wish they'd remember she's Lulu's grandmother, too. And has Nik bothered to ask how Lulu is doing? They are so terrible with Lulu's family connections.

Ugh, Ambien are on. Already about to fall asleep watching them. Silas and Sam are the most useless characters.

Thankfully, Britt and Nik are on and being adorable with Spencer. And Mac/Felicia with Maxie.

I'm also REALLY enjoying the conflict between Dante and Lulu. They're both doing a great job.

UGHHHH. Rafe's on. Such an awful actor. I think he went to the Easton School of "Angst"

    • There's also the soap opera conundrum: once characters get everything they want, they tend to stagnate. Nola got everything she wanted. One of the things that was really interesting about her was that tremendous need for things out of her grasp. Once that was resolved, there wasn't much left for her to play. Maybe Long could have found something to replace that, but since she wasn't created by Long, she probably preferred to focus on the needy character she created: Reva. They were still significant stockholders. They could have punched back. Vanessa forced to team with the brother she resents. I can see it working.
    • She could have easily tied them into the Cottage Mystery...(they could have easily explained going on adventures with Bea, babysitting) The house that Tony and Annabelle lived in could have been the coachhouse of the property that Qualo and Henry live in, or at the very least Nola would have been totally in on ghosts and secrets of her brother's house. But they kind of just sat around for months.  The clip of Van and Billy's impromptu wedding shows how sidelined Nola and Quint became...Nola isn't even around butting in on them getting married, its all Reva (though it is a more interesting Reva where Mindy and her or going at it and insulting each other..THAT Reva was fun.)  I loved it when those two would go at it. Somehow they could have resurrected that antogonistic relationship and not have Billy worshing at the throne of Reva.  When they brought JC back on recurring they should have had him at least warn Annie about Jeva pulling her down..."Darlin' I love my brother, but when he has ole Reva in his sites he will drop any woman to try to win her back...and then he will get bored with her...she's like booze is to me and you...he hates it but he needs it..get out while you can!"
    • It's been brought up that Empty Nest was a time slot hit. Here's Empty Nest schedule and seasonal rating in comparison to The Golden Girls. 1988/89: The Golden Girls Saturday 9 pm, 6th. Empty Nest Saturday 9:30 pm, 9th. 1989/90: The Golden Girls Saturday 9 pm, 6th. Empty Nest Saturday 9:30 pm, 9th. 1990/91: The Golden Girls Saturday 9 pm, 10th. Empty Nest Saturday 9:30 pm, 7th. 1991/92: The Golden Girls Saturday 8 pm, 30th (final season). Empty Nest Saturday 9 pm, 22nd.  1992/93: Saturday 9 pm, below the Top 30. 1993/94: Saturday 9 pm, below the Top 30. 1994/95: Saturday 8:30 pm then 8 pm, below the Top 30, and cancelled. Empty Nest 7 season run equaled the parent show The Golden Girls.
    • In an interesting turn of irony, when Somerset came onto the airwaves in 1970... it ran against Dark Shadows and beat it in the ratings fairly quickly.  Then when Edge of Night moves to ABC in December 1975 and put against Somerset, the slow ratings rise that Somerset was allegedly having in late 1975 is derailed. From reading the write ups of the final year, the show dropped the May/December romance.. which viewers enjoyed and was getting the show some good press... the original cast member was sidelined due to medical issues, and the show featured pure crime stories without any balance. I think the crime focus was an attempt to compete with EON.  However, people that were into crime stories/mysteries weren't going to tune into Somerset for their fix.. not when Edge of Night was known for that.. and that show was running on a high quality wise when the network switch occurred.

    • Erwin Nicholson's last episode as SFT ep was 11/21. Whitesell started 11/22/85. Erwin was on board from March 8, 1985 so less than 9 months. Whitesell lasts six months (approximately) before P&G moved him to AW for two years where he primarily worked with DePriest. Whitesell was replaced on Search by no daytime experience David Lawrence who closed out the show's last six months.

    • I assume in name only?  One Stormy Night wasn't exactly steamy.  If it's a literal throwback then Stephanie's writing about sexy times her own Uncle was having lol. Since I am going to surmise it's just a throwback to the name, Night Sins and Winter Heat both sound sexier.  Just saying.  I swear Jamey (and Ron) just google things and land on the first thing they like and decide it's a good throwback to history without watching it.
