One minor issue: in the EW article, Angela Lansbury says MSW will always be about Cabot Cove -- and theoretically, that's true. However, while watching the entire series again recently (thanks, Netflix!), it struck me that as time went on, Jessica appeared to spend less and less time IN Cabot Cove.

On Wikipedia they said when the ratings began falling at the end of the 80s, new producers moved her more into New York for new material.

Which isn't accurate when you look at the Neilsen ratings, the program was consistently successful until CBS decided to kill it by putting it up against NBC's Must See TV comedy lineup in its final (12th!) season.

Though, it's true that Lansbury pointedly moved Jessica between Cabot Cove and New York City and international destinations to keep the show fresh and increase its appeal for international syndication. She is 100% in the right, whatever she says about the reboot, she WAS the show and she owns her version of it.

Lansbury was the only main lead, so Murder, She Wrote is clearly associated with her. Sure, there was the recurring Cabot Cove cast, but Lansbury still carried the program mostly herself and had the ability to do it.

What's next...Matlock?

Starring Kevin Hart. ;)

For once, wisdom and logic prevailed. NBC says they might try again with a MSW reboot down the road...but I doubt it.
