Y&R: Mackenzie returning?

Kelly Kruger gave off a lesbian vibe to me.

I like Rachel Kimsey a lot.

Remember when AshBash was sick & they had a temp replacement. I always wanted her as Mac.

AshBash is definitive.

Kelly Kruger's Mackenzie was bland. She is to Mackenzie what Amelia Heinle is to Victoria (solid actresses who are much more suited to playing B or C level heroines than more complex characters).

Rachel Kimsey was a solid actress but totally miscast as Mackenzie (although she would have made a great Megan Dennison).

I liked Ashley. Gap teeth and all.

Actually, I really loved her gap too. When she did smile it was very sweet, especially since she didn't always do so. You got the feeling that when someone or something made her smile, it was a well earned moment that genuinely happened. At least that's how I felt.

Agreed. Ash Bash was the only one of the Macs I liked. The rest paled in comparison. She is the only actress who I bought as Kay's granddaughter because she had an inherent toughness and hardness that Jeanne Cooper exemplified, in both looks and actions.

I feel the best thing about her was that, like Beth was....a COMPLETELY different kind of character in the soap world. In a sea of hair models, she shined like a diamond.

Nobody asked Ash Bash? sad.png

right? Why bring back the boring, emotionless, one dimensional/note Mac back that nobody cares about, which is why she was shipped off to Africa. Talk about FAIL. -_-

When Mac smiled, it was like the finding all things that were good in the universe. It meant something...You are absolutely right.

Sigh...AB and DT...the next super couple...too bad things went south with both leaving.....now I cant stand Billy and didnt like any other previous Mac.

I've never been much of a Y&R fan but my 12-13 year old self stumbled upon Billy & Mac 1.0 during an AMC commercial and was hooked. I taped everyday for years during that era. I LOVEDDDD them (the prom with the white dress, the Glow by Jabot House, Jill hating Mac's guts initially-ahhhhhh) and hate that there aren't quality clips in English on YT. The Prom, the first Glow by Jabot Summer. I was too mad when both were recast with actors who I felt were subpar and lacked chemistry. I didn't like KK but I loathed loathed loathed Ryan Brown(?) as Billy. Thankfully when that was going on, JT & Colleen were starting up. I'm not sure if all of that would hold now but it was soap heaven back in junior high and I will always ship Billy/Mac and JT/Colleen originals only in my heart.

I wish it was AB. I loved AB's Mac, I was so invested in Billy/Mac back then. I still remember the songs that played during the Prom episode.

Never cared for the Mac's that came after.

Didn't Bashioum leave for school? Then return? What happened to David Tom at the time, I can't remember at all? Wasn't it around when Heather Tom aslo 'left?

That was so dumb to lose them. Wasn't that all Jack Smith?

Bashioum left first in Feb 2002, followed by David Tom the same year in Aug. Heather Tom left in December 2003.

Kelly Kruger took over almost immediately or immediately for AB. Kruger left mid 2003 thankfully after I believe the aborted Billy/Mac wedding. AB came back in spring-ish 2004 and stayed for about a year until she was replaced by Rachel Kimsey. Jack Smith said her school schedule made it difficult to do the story they wanted to do with Mac.

With David Tom, he left end of summer 2002. The character was recast with Ryan Brown at the end of that year. he lasted about a year. I think there may have been another Billy briefly while Kimsey was Mac.
