Episode 52:

I always appreciate it when the TOLN shows take the time out to use legit, popular artists - Jason Derulo may not be that hot right now but he's still hot and a damn sight better than, say, All-American Rejects in 2008, a variety of obscure no-hit wonders, or fuckin' Simply Red in 2004. I'll never get over when they had everyone on OLTL of all ages go apeshit over fuckin' Simply Red, who no one in America had heard from since like 1988. Soaps used to be able to get real music and real musical acts - now only AMC and OLTL can.* OLTL just had Nervo, a pretty solid electronica act on, and I appreciated that too. I liked Derulo's song as well.

The intercutting on the song while Miranda watched Heather and A.J. kiss and both David and J.R. looked to Cara was nicely done by Chris Goutman and the editors. So long as Ginger Smith watches her back he should be alright.

I appreciated the brief Cara and Dixie scene re: J.R. and Tad. That was a long time coming, although I'm not sure Dixie won't cut eyes if she discovers how close Cara and J.R. are really getting. They both looked amazing. Also loved David and Angie, and poor, hilarious drunk-ass Jesse with Billy Clyde at Shelter the Valley Inn. At least, I pretend it's the Valley Inn. They did a pretty solid job redressing the Shelter set to look just different enough. Actually, everything and everyone looked amazing - it was a small space but it didn't look at the way it was shot, lit, filled and dressed. It looked like a million bucks despite their lack of network millions, and as I said a while ago, neither GH nor Y&R looked half this good in their recent costume events. Remember the Nurses' Ball looking like a half-full barn? It got by on fun and good times, sure, but it looked cheap. How is it that this (and the general Shelter crowd scenes/Man of the Year stuff on OLTL) look better? They have got to fix the sound on those shoes though. Seriously. I thought bulls were stampeding at one point.

I LOLed when I saw the interface on the computer for J.R.'s corrupted file. It's Windows 8, of course it doesn't work! I always blame Windows 8. I would've laughed even more if J.R.'s file had somehow turned into malware and started sprouting porn pop-ups and hijacks.

Jill Larson got the best line today - not a one of those bitches can compare to 25-year-old Opal Purdy! You can tell this regime truly loves and appreciates her in a way AMC hasn't in a long, long time. Please, Erica, I love you but don't hurry back. I need Opal to stay center stage, not in Erica's shadow.

* = Okay, Angie and Jesse's wedding in 2008 had Ne-Yo singing and dancing while the wedding party stood there awkwardly. He was doing pretty good back then, IIRC. Maybe at Derulo level today? Exception to the rule.

Just making sure it gets on every page of this thread.wub.png

ICAM!

Sadly I still see them when other posters quote her, which I sometimes have in the past responded to.

But at this point, after that insipid post that someone like me who's been a faithful, obsessive AMC viewer for over 30 years isn't a true fan because I want to see Angie hold Jesse responsible for his [!@#$%^&*], clearly is too delusional to deal with.

I noticed both those scenes, too. I think the identity of Celia's guardian has been changed.

Were they showing them as deleted scenes or what was the context? That is really strange. Maybe they were cut them because they delayed the reveal of the Billy Clyde revelation from a few weeks ago and perhaps the scenes were set up with the audience already knowing.

You've completely lost me with your argument, in some half-assed "defense for Jesse". David commit a crime in saving BOTH Angie AND Cassandra, but it's somehow NOT in the same category as Jessie, committing a crime to protect his family?!

Just because Jesse is Angie's husband, doesn't make him exempt from being responsible for HIS criminal acts.

That's why he lost HIS job. The same way that David, has lost his job.

They were intercut with an interview with Matthew Cowles.

My understanding is that the last episode AMC taped was just a regular old episode. TPTB knew nothing about having a season finale when it was written or taped. (The same could also be true for OLTL but OLTL just happened, by luck, to have a big ending on the last episode they taped).

So I could definitely see GS, having no other choice really, tacking the

reveal on to the last episode (and making the necessary edits) so it at least had some kind of big ending.

But for the first time I'm actually thinking those who believe the story has been changed might be right.
