Supposedly there's a spoiler in the new SOD (7/15). In the recap section for AMC, it says:

"Billy Clyde is on the phone with Evelyn and tells her that Pete is everything he wants in a guy for Celia."

Well...that explains the buying of Courtlandt Manor...maybe.

I don't buy it either. BC just got rich from winning the lottery. He did not have enough money to be Celia's guardian all of these years. At least I would not think so.

Me either. It sounds like bad fan fiction.

I could buy it. It was always a possibility many of us hit on a while ago, though it's not the most surprising choice to me. Evelyn could well be one of Billy Clyde's former girls, and Billy could've squirreled funds away to handle Celia. One never knows. His hypocrisy would fit with the guardian's.

I'd still rather it be someone else, though.

Still think there's a Dimitri connection, given the way the way the camera lingered on him when he met Celia, unless the show is veering from their original plan.

I'm not even trying to figure out Celia's guardian until we learn more about her parents and the accident that "killed" them as well as Evelyn.

I assumed it was Billy Clyde when Evelyn told Celia that her guardian didn't want her working with the prostitutes that came into the Miranda Center, or something like that. I dunno, It just made sense to me.

However, I noticed that weird stare Dimitri gave Celia. I wonder if that was just misdirection or she's somehow his but they don't know it? IDK. LOL.

Is Matt Cowles on contract with AMC? I did not realise he was back for the long-haul. He needs an ally on the main cast so as to not be so isolated storyline-wise.

I feel tentatively validated because I said this in the AMC thread and my theory was pretty much dismissed.

As I said the day that episode aired, they had whatshername the school teacher say that Celia's guardian was a difficult guy who didn't approve of much but she would talk to him, and they cut immediately to Billy Clyde. It fits.

I have the SOD and that's exactly what it says... This is listed as happening before the Colby/Pete scenes at the coffee house and before David and Colby had sex. So it seems like this was cut...odd.
