Many actors, but in HTF's case...performers, do multiple series now because of low eppies/season and production rapping up quickly.

Logan Browning (Jelena) is in Netflix's DWP but S1 is complete so she could still do HTF.

Is anyone watching this show? I haven't watched any of the new episodes but I have noticed that when the show had its premiere it trended for a few hours on social media and most were complaints about missing characters and weird plots.  I haven't heard a peep since.

I am watching and not caring for it. There is no Jude and Zero and the explanation to Zero leaving was lame as hell. The plots are worse than they were before.....

Just checked the ratings and they are awful. On VH1 the show had a 0.7 demo rating with 1.1 million viewers......on BET the premiere episode got a 0.2 demo and less than half a million viewers. The ratings for episode 2 went down even more and picked up slightly for episode 3. The show is down 76% in demos and 70% in viewers from season 3 on VH1. A question.....do VH1 and BET have the same availability ?? Meaning do less people get BET channel than VH1? I don't see the show being renewed after this season.

They are both on basic cable, as far as I remember. The show had sort of messed itself up even before it left VH1 and seems to have deteriorated from there.

The first bad sign to me was when I noticed that Kimberly Elise (Sloane) wasn't having much to do with the show anymore.  She is the executive producer and if it weren't for her, the show would never have gotten greenlit in the first place. Her character is gone, and she was the best actor on that show.

From what I have heard, there's no Ahsha and people were upset with the excuse, er, explanation that was given for her absence.

Pete was killed off, very early, in a very sad way.

There are a slew of new characters that have been plunked down, seemingly all at once, instead of one by one.

Too many fundamental changes in one episode.

From what I heard, the show got very dark all at once.

In previous seasons, the show had been relatively fun, not too deep and not too heavy.  It was never Downton Abbey and that was fine...HTF was supposed to have bouncy dance routines, a bit of comedy, a bit of drama, a dash of suspense and attitude to cover whatever deficiencies the show had (it had more than a few, TBH).

I also heard complaints that even the choreography and dancing wasn't as good as it had been in the past.

Also, one of the biggest problems is that the show has simply lost a lot of momentum having been off the air for so long.

All of these are reasons for the huge drop in ratings especially your last statement. Those who didn't return went to other projects ....thinking the show was done with.....I've even seen the actor who plays Jude now on the reboot of Dynasty as fake Adam. I wonder how he juggled both shows. He could've easily bolted too. I miss my Zero and Jude.

    • Garneau was in the Liberal party and his riding was in Montreal. He was the first Canadian in outer space.
    • I agree. I really have enjoyed this story from the beginning. I feel like it needed the time for us to care about Doug. They've done a nice job of explaining his motives and making me care for him. I still feel like he's doomed and Vanessa will end up being a widow and now I'm invested in that *not* happening now that I've fallen for him. Friday was good but so was the entire week. I think they're doing such a nice job of keeping things moving. We got good movement with Bill's story this week, Chelsea is attempting to date, Andre and Dani are having tough conversations about their relationship, of course Anita reunited with Sharon. There is *so* much going on and I didn't even cover all of it.  I wish all of the soaps would take a page out of BTG book and start rotating their stories. I love that everybody is getting a chance to shine and they don't just sit on one lead story to the point you get sick of it.
    • Did Jordan Clarke have a departure sometime between 1985 and 1989? I know Robert Newman had three runs: 1981-1984, 1986-1991, 1993-end.
    • Well, they usually weren't on the show at the time for long until the late 90's. But yeah, they really deserved a story centered on them, and not through the lens of Reva.
    • Chelsea was doing the absolute most today! Why was she introducing her sister to a woman she doesnt know? That whole scene was embarrassing. Madison needs to stay away from her bc she is too immature
    • Gosh, what a waste with Lunacy. Why have her live with $B, reveal Finn, pardon her, etc What makes this story incredibly hollow is that what Luna is asking isn't unreasonable - to spend time with her cousin father. She's not asking to move in with them. How hard with it be for Finn to throw her a bone by, say, I'll meet you for lunch/coffee once at week at the hospital cafeteria. Lunacy isn't going to hurt Finn. In fact, all her crimes were related to finding her father and it turns out to be someone she's loved her entire life. Instead of course-correcting the nonsense of last summer, Brad somehow found a way to make this worse! That's a skill... Of all the younger actors B&B has cast during the past 5 years, LY has shown the most growth and range. Why get rid of her?
    • On the subject of sets (seems more interesting to discuss than the actual show)  Some sets we don't see anymore Lauren/Michael apartment (haven't seen that in years) Victoria's house (are Marian/Tessa living there?) Apartment above Crimson Lights (I think Chelsea was the last resident) Penthouse (Lily's home) Chancellor Estate (Devon/Abby) Chancellor office (once Dark Horse) Nick's house GCAC room (used as residence/hotel room for several characters) Some of these may pop up again. The tack house, for example, was not seen for many months before being used again. Have I missed anything?
    • Thanks for searching through everything. Worked on them so long, just too lazy to check for those links myself, so I am glad you chose to do it! I guess I never did type out anything for 1973-1977 in regards to the preemptions, but they are on the charts at least (and this far back, they don't seem to do any of those "breakouts" anymore, so things are simpler in the 1970's, so eventually I could type those out).
    • I dump on the Y&R sets problem all the time, but BOLD is no better -- and they're not even introducing new sets. All of their sets are years old, and very few look like they're inhabited by people with money. Is that going to change with this move? I'd rather they save the money spent on another remote, which is no better than an HGTV travelogue, and get some new/better sets.
    • The donut posts here make up for a Friday show that was barely meh. Aside from seeing Anna, I really didn't care much about anything else. While I understand the thought behind breaking up all the sadness with "other scenes," I'd rather they moved right to John's funeral. Instead of hearing a stupid story about John changing some minor character's tire 20 years ago, just move on to the crying. I also thought the Chad and Cat scenes were a waste. I realize not everyone is devastated by John's death to the point of not functioning, but going sky diving is a choice. By the way, Jack and Jennifer are giving me nothing on this return. Please leave asap. DAYS did such a great job with John's death, so ending the week this way was a letdown.
