I just have a hard time accepting that because celebrities always use that as an excuse to get attention. She could've easily blocked those fans and deleted their comments and kept it classy. They WANT you to start screaming and cursing and looking like an idiot. That's the reason they do it.

Well I think its classier to stand up aganist a bully then to just ignore it. By standing up, hopefully the bully backs off. If you do nothing, their harrasement could just continue.

Yep. Otherwise, no actors would be working anywhere. (For one thing, they'd be too busy jumping down from the stage and confronting every heckler who talked [!@#$%^&*] about them.)

Umm No. I guess we disagree on this. U always stand up to bullies.

I'm sure Alec Baldwin agrees with you.

Im not saying getting physical with them. I don't advocate that. But with twitter & FB actors can use their words to defend themselves.

Yes, and the more actors use those words, the further the [!@#$%^&*] keeps going. Standing up to "bullying" fans in such a manner won't guarantee that they will stop or that others won't come in their place. Plus, it only encourages others to start having arguments with the abusive ones as well; and in the end, everyone is so busy sniping and sniping back and deflecting, those who never wanted any part of the arguing get frustrated enough to turn away completely. It's a shitstorm, and a vicious cycle, and no one walks away a winner.

Cady knew (or should have known) when she became a performer (and one with an online presence) that this was one of those so-called occupational hazards. I'm sorry there are some idiots out there who felt the need to say what they said to her. That's unfortunate. But, in a way, responding to them at all, giving them and their stupid remarks more attention than they deserved, is sinking to their level.

Now Cady is being bullied?

You know how ladies' rooms are. wink.png

Oh here we go lol! Now she's being "bullied." Oh give me a break! And I highly doubt people were being that negative to her to begin with. She was just mad that people didn't blindly accept PP's statement. I've seen so much of that on Twitter. "Shame on you for complaining about anything! They are trying!"

Cady got some flack, some of which went too far. But sometimes in the course of defending oneself an actor will go too far hurting fans who are upset, but not bullying. There is a fine line, and that's where Cady messed up... I won't tell any actor how to feel and I may ask why an actor feels a certain way, but I expect the same consideration. The last thing an actor should want to do is hurt actual fans who aren't bashers, but upset due to the circumstances.

ETA: If it is a situation where an actor can't take any criticism and feels any worry/slightly not 100% positive comment is a bash, someone close to that person needs to step in and help that performer realize that viewers/fans can love someone's work and not agree with everything they do or else convince them to leave social media or have it monitored by someone with a stronger ability to read negative statements. Not everyone can agree all the time and that's what makes life interesting.

She is a grandmother! Show some respect! LEAVE HER ALONE!!!!!!!!

No doubt, someone said that on FB or Twitter, too.

Kassie DePaiva put something about this on her website...(editing just to that...)

I was made aware of the schedule change of the airings just as many of you fans were by Twitter… But I can assure you if the changes were made they were necessary to keep these shows coming to you as often as they possibly can. No one wants the shows to be successful more than Prospect Park and the cast and crew of One Life to Live and All My Children. We've all got to continue to watch and continue to tell all of our friends where they can watch it and how they can watch it. Let's keep it in the top 10 Hulu.com choices... Forever!

It's all about perception. If you make a decision like this then people are going to be confused and disappointed. It's one thing having Peyton Place going from 2 to 3 episodes, but when it went from 3 to 2 and then 1 episode per week you knew the writing was on the wall. This is more in line with something like that. They should've planned a hiatus and when the shows returned (say a month or two later) they could re-launch with better public awareness and without it looking like a sudden move, which signals disappointment. Just judging by the mess with FX Canada, we know this wasn't a well thought out idea.

I also wonder what this would mean for international sales for these shows.

I agree about perception. Confused and disappointed? Yes, absolutely. I understand that. I don't understand, however, why people are jumping to conclusions that stretch out months into the future when we've seen already how quickly changes can be made. Everyone's assuming that FX Canada dropped the shows in response to the decrease in episodes, but where is the proof of that? Considering the shows' availability on iTunes Canada now, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the FX Canada airings were always meant to be temporary until a deal was made to bring the shows to Canada in a way similar to the way they're being brought to the US. Of course, there's no proof of that, either, but it's just as much a viable possibility as the idea that FX Canada is pissed at PP, considering we have no evidence for either. If I'm wrong on that, I stand corrected. As far as a hiatus, I personally think putting them on hiatus would have been even worse for public relations, especially if no return date was set in stone at hiatus time.

To be honest, this whole thing is sickening, and I'm not even referring to the actual news here. It's the "Prospect Park is evil, unjust, unethical" vs. "You should be grateful we have these shows back at all!!" pseudo-fanwar that's frustrating. I wish everyone would stop trying to one-up each other with "knowledge" and predictions, pipe the f!ck down, and let things happen as they happen. Or, in other words, wait and see.

I assumed the FX blip has to do with them changing the schedule.

Please understand I am not trying to stoke any more fires here, but I am becoming a trifle confused as to why these changes are happening. On the one hand, you have PP's mash-note official statement that this is in response to viewer feedback (that fans simply have too much to keep up with episode-wise, forcing them to binge-view and ultimately choose between following one show or the other). But, on the other hand, you have actors such as Cadisha McClain and Jill Larson suggesting this will give AMC and OLTL room to breathe, so to speak, and time to produce better quality episodes. Which is it? And if it IS the latter, wouldn't that suggest they are making changes to the shows' production schedules as well?
