He stalked and kidnapped Dixie and also "killed" Tad although he of course turned up alive a couple of years later. She and Opal better get material with him. He just might send Dixie over the edge

I don't think there's any way to redeem Billy Clyde, really. I mean, you could, but people are more likely to buy Bianca as a man-stealing tramp.

Billy Clyde was a pimp who impregnated one of his hookers, Donna Beck, who gave birth to Emily Ann. Emily Ann married Joey Martin (soon to be known as Jake Martin) and became pregnant with his baby. Billy Clyde struggled with Emily Ann on top of the stairs entering Emily Ann's loft and she fell down, losing her baby with Joey. She became psycho and tried to kill Joey and Katie Kennicott and was shipped off. Then, Billy Clyde became obsessed with Dixie Cooney, kidnapped her and had an epic shootout with the cops. Derek Frye took a bullet for Tad and became temporarily paralyzed. Later on, when Dixie and Tad were supposed to be married, Billy Clyde kidnapped Tad on his wedding day, bound him up in a shack with explosives in hopes of killing Tad so he could have Dixie to himself. Tad broke free, chased Billy Clyde on to the Lockport Bridge and when the bomb went off, the shockwaves knocked Tad and Billy Clyde off the bridge. Tad washed ashore with amnesia and wound up hitching a ride to California. Everyone presumed Tad was dead because the body wasn't recovered and the current was described as too strong for Tad to survive. Billy Clyde's body was supposedly recovered with a broken neck after hitting the water from the fall. So, for the last 22 years, Billy Clyde has been presumed dead.

I wonder whether AMC would be up for bringing back Tyrone as well?

Never mind. Roscoe Orman would just worry again about "Sesame Street" viewers getting "Gordon" and "Tyrone" mixed up.

Billy Clyde used to bring up the name Jehovah a lot, I think. I grew up in and out of the Jehovah Witness religion, so that always intrigued/scared me.

This cabin "wedding" was lodged in my memory for about 10-15 years before my memory started going downhill.

So I'm rewatching Thursday in preparation for tomorrow- after all the schedule change insanity, I don't even remember what happened on Thursday's episodes. Dixie is a therapist?!? Is this the first we have heard of this? I find this hilarious after she seemed so unhinged in the first few episodes. But I guess it could be a good way to get her interacting with people outside of JR & AJ. I remember hearing Cady loved working with the younger set on ATWT so maybe they'll throw her in with Celia when the visions stuff amps up or Cass.

Dixie working as a therapist is like me working as a weight loss counselor...only a little less believable.

Perhaps Dixie should have been a writer?

I suspect we would have had a few withdrawals next year if Israel had won. I don't think many people would relish going to Jerusalem as things stand now. Not to mention it would have been a prime target for terrorist attacks.
    • And they've given us plenty. Sets, outdoor scenes, music licensing, etc. And that was the point of me using DAYS... so. It's obvious the casino set is not intended for long-term use, hence why it's likely it wasn't as evolved as the other community sets, etc.

    • I just had thought of how to save the Perkins family. (Inspired by Rituals) -- What if Marisa Perkins was Augusta Lockridge's sister? Fictionally, they could've both been local girls, one married rich and one married poor. Originally, I was going to suggest that Marisa be Sophia's sister, but then I realized Joe and Kelly would've been first cousins.  Of course, it would've truly inspired Sophia was if Rosa Andrade sister, with Rosa and Santana moving in to help CC raise the kids once Sophia disappeared.  While this could've avoided both gross CC and Santana affairs, the times were not right for a story about intersectional inequity.
    • https://www.instagram.com/p/DJxW5DLJLId/ Another World is my forever favorite soap opera. But it's finale is almost universally hated by its fans. What this is, is an edit where I've deleted everything I didn't like!!!
    • The Perkins family had potential to be a nice alternative to the more dysfunctional Capwells and wackier Lockridges... but I think a few factors did in the family. 1) Recasting of Joe Perkins 2) Bad casting of the Perkins Patriarch, and the one note writing for that character. 3) Lack of antagonistic interaction between the Capwells/Lockridges and Perkins.  (There was no awkwardness between Jade/Ted.. or CC disapproving of his son being friends with that Perkins girl, etc). 4) Wasting of Jade thus wasting the potential of the actress (which was realized on Days of Our Lives).  She had more potential than Laken oddly enough. The only member of the Perkins family that had appeal and a somewhat thought out story arc was Amy.
    • @GymnastGuyThanks for posting the three new Capitol 1985 episodes today. The two labeled March 12, and 13 are misidentified. The March 12 labeled one actually aired November 12 1985 which I figured out because Kenny Rogers' movie Wild Horses aired November 12th and it was announced over the "March 12" Cap credits. In addition, Craig Carlson is listed in the April credits but not the March. Craig left Capitol sometime after July 1985 before he rejoined OLTL in the credits by October 15, 1985; he was replaced on Cap by Radcliffe and Hamner. In these posted episodes Radcliffe/Hamner names appear in the March 85 episodes but not in the April.
