When a show like TNT's "Major Crimes," which is a meat and potatoes procedural, has as a member of its cast a male teen prostitute, daytime should be able to go this way. Soaps tradition have led the way on controversial issues, but no longer. Perhaps, OLTL/AMC will decide to go for more edgy issues. Things don't have to be sorted or done just for shock value. (In fact MC, has gone to great lengths to humanize and explore why this kid did what he did.) Soaps have a far better format for digging deep.
