GH: Discussion for the Month of March

Kate is such a weak bitch. Connie got in her face about Sonny cheating on her with her so that caused her to break again. I CANT BELIEVE two personalities are having fights with each other over a man cheating on them with themselves. I CANT!

The worst thing about it is that this whole mess - including the question of which personality is the 'true' one - is clearly what Ron always wanted to do with Jessica and Tess on OLTL but could never have gotten away with due to Jess's years of history. This is Ron's DID delight unbound. It's the kind of story he was always dying to tell.

On paper, the story of one man in love with a woman's two separate personalities is very soapy - 30 years ago. Today, with the soaps' history of delving into the roots of the mental illness and its connection to sexual abuse, it's just gross and misogynistic. What's more, when they flirted with this material with characters like Clint or Vinnie Wolek back in the day, the writing was much better.

And I'm not sure anyone notices, scriptwriters especially, how often they accidentally tell the audience that Connie is the host (as she should be) who existed before the "rape".

They can't possibly be hosting a major book launch party at the Floating Rib, which has gotten a bit upscale since it was formerly known as skanktown dive bar Jake's but is still just a blue plate special watering hole.

Come on, Frank. I know you're budget conscious but you've got to be [!@#$%^&*] kidding me. At least on OLTL he would've done this at Capricorn or Ultra Violet.

It's weird that no one is suing Ron for copyright infringement

Again that was only bc it was Connie who planned it. Had it been Molly or Kate, it would have been held at a different venue

for what?

the only one who's "claimed" that has been Connie and that was no accident on the scriptwriters part

I can almost accept that rationale, except Connie has been through this "must masquerade as Kate" business before and she knows what would tip people off. How are all these people standing around nodding their heads and thinking, "seems legit'?

That's the thing. She isn't masquearading as Kate. She is fully out as Connie and doesn't care who knows about it. This party was planned weeks in advance. Kate has only been out for what 2-3 days. She probably wasn't even aware that this was even happening and no one would have thought anything of it bc they knew the circumstances behind how this was all arranged

copying and pasting old OLTL storylines, even some GH ones and using them repeatedly on GH

I think you've put significantly more thought into this than they did.

I stand corrected - Mac mentioned it. Still, it's stupid.

Right, bc soaps have never rehashed stories before....

I thought the dress was a bit of a sausage casing on Connie.

Everything about Connie is basically that loud drunk person at the party who needs everyone to see how awesome and shocking they are. It stops being cute after about a minute.

LOL!

Unfortunately, this DID stuff has been done a thousand times better on OLTL, AW, GL and Loving by writers who know how to make it much more entertaining.

LOL...oh definetly. I just thought it was amusing that copyright infringement is being brought up here when 95% of storylines on soaps (not just GH) have been done before in some capacity
