GH: Discussion for the Month of March

I guess it is true about backstage shenanigans (or lack thereof) showing up onscreen.

I disagree about Genie Francis, as I think that she looks like any 50-something woman in fine shape. Hair looks fine to me and the wardrobe flatters her frame just fine (as opposed to the too-tight numbers that some nameless chicks insist on wearing). As for KS, well, he's looked the same as he's looked since his PC days, so I can't say that he's gotten better or worse.

JW's the one that I've noticed the most improvement on because I remember wondering just what the hell was up with him when he was pretending to be LAD's son on B&B. I've heard negative things about JL's run on ATWT (mostly in regards to the writing there), but it breaks my heart to hear that they didn't capture LH in the best light - especially when she gives the camera all the tools that are needed to showcase her in fine form all the time.

*sigh*

Is it too much to hope that this will come true when BA's contract is up so that this show can shed this sloth from the canvas?

From what little I've seen of her, it took me 1/4 of the time to figure out that her character deserves much better that that jackass.

I'll take partial credit--myself and at least one other person on here called her being Britt's mom as far back as Dec I believe--and that being Britt's motivation for being an apparently attractive doctor who was trying to get Patrick at all costs--her mom told her to.

I'm was prob wrong ont hat last point, but the first point is vintage RC plotting....

Brenda and Connie: GH's resident Lipstick Lesbians! wink.pnglaugh.png

I liked Felix and Sabrina today. She's showing more personality (and just shows more personality with him in general) and didn't look like she was about to burst into tears. I dig it.

BARBARA JEAN SPENCER! wub.png:wub:

Jackie looks pretty good, but her cheeks are kind of distracting every once in awhile.

Of course Dr. O and Britt are mother and daughter. Looking at them side by side, you can see it in the eyes.

Scott & Lucy and Scott & Bobbie wub.png:wub:wub.png .

Were those childhood pictures of Lulu at the beginning actually JMB? If so, she was cute! smile.png

    • Today was a short one. Only 33 minutes.  The ‘Part One’ graphic at the beginning was pretty interesting though. I didn’t expect them to do something like that.  I like how everything was focused around John and his family and friends. Again, the acting and the dialogue was very well done and well written. And I love that they were able to incorporate Drake’s, “swing for the fences” phrase into the script. It was nice seeing everyone interact with each other, especially characters who don’t often share scenes together. It felt like every character was part of a big family or community. Plus, an outdoor funeral in June makes a lot more sense than an outdoor funeral in December.  But yeah, it’s very, very strange that Will isn’t at the funeral, especially since we know that

I would much rather he had been there today. And, where’s Anna too? And Jack and Jennifer? What was the point of bringing them all back if they weren’t going to attend the funeral? I expected Steve to want to close down BlackPatch, though I’d rather he just retire and let Paul take it over. But I like that Kayla was there to comfort him. I wonder if he’s going to change his mind at some point.  It was nice seeing Shane again too. Now, he just needs to have more scenes with his son lol but I enjoyed seeing him comfort Marlena. I’m not really sure about his interaction with Cat though? Was it really necessary for this to happen now, at John’s funeral? They could’ve waited a little longer to introduce this story arc.  Btw, was Tate bleeding from his head in his first scene with Arianna?
    • This is the coldest early June in my life. It's like it's January.

    • Now this strikes me as funny. I have it up on my acct. The thing is I only have S2. Didn't want either 1 or 3.  Perhaps I should just list all of these that I have up.  Parodies: Dirty Sexy Money, Filthy Rich Incomplete: The Monroes, All That Glitters, Falcon Crest (have all just not all up), Once & Again S2 only Complete: Models Inc, Pasadena, Pacific Palisades, Paper Dolls, Flamingo Road
    • This is wonderful! Thank you for posting this! I loved the first two seasons and never got to see the final season when they cancelled the DVD release. I've been hoping this popped up on streaming but no luck. Happy I'll finally get to see how it ended!

    • In case it is of interest to anyone here, I have digital copies (computer files, mp4 etc.) of all of the episodes. And, besides having the files they are all up on my usual video hosting site, acct name: shallotpeel, channel it is in: Primetime Soaps and file names like  Flamingo Road S1E15 Hurricane Flamingo Road was a primetime soap on NBC by Lorimar Productions. 2 seasons. 1980-1982. Morgan Fairchild, Barbara Rush. Developed by Rita Lakin.
    • Arguably DAYS OF OUR LIVES has been brilliant lately & definitely was last week. But, here I am with nitpick & technicalities. This was the only misstep but it was just a stupid thing that should have been caught. Deidre Hall as Marlena has this one problematic line, "It didn't matter how many identities you had, I always knew exactly who you were, you were the man who saved my life." - Marlena, DAYS, 6-2-25 Unfortunately the flashback closest to it was when Marlena was on the phone, terrified because she thought he was Stefano. Yes, it's true that the line is not accurate. There were many times when she did not feel the way she is claiming because of whatever was going on in story with his 'retconned to hell & back' identity & origin story. Does it keep the whole week from being called excellent? Nope.

Newsom is a craven opportunist, but his comments today were exactly how better people need to handle Trump.
