The prospects seem dimmer by the day...

Don't give up hope on OLTL returning again, Winchester91! If the show can come back once, it could come back again!

Honestly, I'm worried about AMC as well. Those fans seem to think it's smooth sailing, but this situation with OLTL has proven that neither show is safe. Until I see them filming AMC again, I'm still not convinced that won't have it's own set of setbacks.

The new SID has AMC's Ginger Smith quoted saying they just need to resolve the lawsuit, hoping it is sooner rather than later. And Corbin Bleu also says he expects to be back in production at some point.

The only thing that lawsuit is going to give them is money. If they want to feature Starr, Todd and John they can do that in form of recasts. What happens once they blow through the lawsuit money? What is going to pay for season 3? If that lawsuit is their strategy then there is no hope.

A tweet from OLTL associate producer Jared Kaplan from a few hours ago on his twitter account:

4hr @JaredKaplan: On my way to dinner with a bunch of OLTL/AMC staff members! I've missed these people like crazy!

Looking thru Kassie's reddit, I don't know if an assistant was typing for her or if she was on her phone but that was some atrocious spelling.

Josh Kelly cast in pilot: http://www.deadline.com/2013/10/josh-kelly-books-lifetime-pilot-unreal-grainger-in-cinemax-series-the-knick/#utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

This is the beginning of what's going to make things difficult when OLTL returns. The actors contracts are probably going to expire and you're going to start losing people to other projects. I still say we'll be lucky of AMC returns and OLTL is pretty much done. If they're struggling thing much for money, then even if AMC returns it can't amount to too much.

Well Lifetime Network shows only shoot 13 episodes a season and it sounds like OLTL/AMC wont shoot more than 40 episodes a season now. So Im sure he could do both

However 100's of pilots are done a year and not many picked up.

So I say just wait & see what happens

This is a cable pilot for Lifetime. Most cable networks only pick up 5-6 pilots so there is a strong chance this will be picked up. Of course like you said, he *could* do both (but let's not forget Lucci and Devious Maids, also Lifetime), but the big issue here is if this happens for more actors. What if someone gets booked on a network series? Or another soap? You can't expect these people to sit around for a maybe. I guarantee as soon as those contracts expire we'll quickly see these actors cast on other shows.

I'm honestly still holding my breath that AMC starts filming this month.

Since that date was never confirmed by PP, I'm just assuming it isn't valid.

I've just decided to stop wondering if/when they come back and just tune out on the drama. The BBC has taught me well. I waited more than a year between seasons of Luther and Sherlock and those seasons are only 3-4 episodes. I hope AMC comes back soon but I'm done watching this mess like a pregnancy test.

I feel like everything involving PP is filled with so much fan angst it's almost become a parody. I guess if I was more invested in the shows, I'd be more worried. I hope AMC stays on, and OLTL comes back, but I never thought they'd be back in the first place, so I just gave up expectations.

Lucci probably had a number of reasons to not go back to AMC that didn't involve Devious Maids.

BBC shows are terrible at this, and seem to be getting even worse. Their scheduling decisions have helped kill a great deal of my interest in the Doctor Who revival.

I asked Josh Kelly on his facebook page if his role in the Lifetime pilot will affect his role on OLTL if its picked up for a second season, and if the Lifetime pilot is picked up to series, and if the role of Cutter would be recast or if he would juggle doing two shows, and he responded to me by saying "we will just have to see...we will just have to see".
