God I'm just ready for them to air so all the madness and stupidity dies down at least a little. I'm ready for fan wars and all the usual that comes with watching soaps and posting here.

In that case, I would suggest to ~bl~ and anyone else that you spring the $7.99/mo. for Hulu Plus. Two soaps, one fee, episodes available for an indefinite period of time.

so that means when they first air they will be free and stay free for two weeks, okay

They will be released daily at Hulu Hulu Plus & Itunes but after two weeks episodes will leave Hulu. So if U wanna see the first episodes after 2 weeks time, U must either subscribe thru Itunes or Hulu Plus

That is what I did & their library of shows is amazing. it's worth 7.99 monthly

  • both of these look cheap and terrible, but at lease amc looks like something that was produced in the last century. yikes.

    • They look the same way they looked the last few years on broadcast to me, but yeah, not great. I don’t really see the need for them to return and I imagine a lot of the original fans aren’t interested in figuring out how to follow these shows in a digital universe. But for all the talent involved, I hope they find their audience.

  • I had high hopes for these shows. Expected them to feel more fresh and modern. Lookin’ pretty shoddy, hopefully it’s just a poorly edited set of trailers.

  • Wow. By the looks of these you realize how much they weren’t missed. Antiquated story lines and character arcs, these just don’t fit within a digital world. Now the old fans will scream that these stories are still valid but let’s see if they take the effort to find them online and pay the sub fee.

  • Cheap? This is a soap opera for cry out loud. This looks the same as it did when it aired on television. I honestly can’t wait to see these shows. I nearly lost it when it got canned.

  • What did you expect? They’re not produced by ABC anymore.

  • I don’t think they look a ton different from when they were on TV. It looks like it may be filmed differently thought.

  • I love these shows!! But these trailers do not inspire me to watch!

It’s funny, the soap fans bitch when the shows are taken off, then you give them the shows the same way they were when they were broadcast on ABC and they still complain.

Be thankful for what you have, digital is the future, the internet is the future of Television, broadcast networks are a dying old midcentury business.

You know, I don't think those comments are overall offensive. Yes it's great these shows are back, but there is nothing wrong with commenting on their quality. I can understand before we saw anything, but commenting on a trailer is valid IMO. I can see why some people are confused when they keep saying this is the future, yet these soaps have the same dated US daytime soap look. I'm personally okay with it because I'm such a big soap fan, but I've always said if they were bringing these shows back they should've had a primetime feel or something similar to the british soaps. Standing sets, natural lighting, not just these standard daytime soap sets. That is considered cheap and dated in many peoples eyes, so I don't begrudge anyone for mentioning it.

Considering these are like new productions, I think they could've done better with selling them overseas (and having them be successful) if they were produced in a more modern fashion. With them being half hour, they would've been perfect in the UK which loves soaps, especially provocative ones.

i call it being ungrateful and judgmental

Ungrateful and judgemental? That's ridiculous. It's called having an opinion about a tv show. Now the people complaining before we saw anything, I might agree with that assessment, but stating an opinion based on the final product is par the course.
