I'm pretty appreciative of how Josh Kelly has solidified his place in the OLTL fabric...particularly now that he seems to be doing the most press for the show. This is for someone whose character was introduced within a year of cancellation.

Agreed. I thought Josh had a lot of natural charisma and chops in the first go round. Like someone said, he was one of the best new additions to the canvas in the final few years. I'm glad he's back.

AFAIC, Jimmy Kimmel, and whoever else, can make light of soaps all they want. I'm over getting my knickers in a twist over how the "mainstream" entertainment community regards soaps. They don't "get" them because they don't want to "get" them. Sort of like those who remain clueless about how to download and watch new eps of AMC and OLTL.

Josh Kelly is the Webster's Dictionary definition of "yummy."

Wish I could say the same about his posterior. Or lack thereof.

Thank you. I agree. They can mock all they want but must realize AMC & OLTL will be remebered & loved wy beyond these mockers shows die,

Jimmy Kimmel's joke, if you understood it, wasn't insulting soap viewers, it was simply saying that the fans of soaps and Snoop rarely overlap.

Its the same BS that Steve Kent of Sony believes. That AMC & OLTL are not major compeitors for the other daily soaps on network. Well he will be in for a shock when both AMC & OLTL have more viewers on Hulu than Y&R has on CBS. Then they will take them seriously & SONY/ABC/Bell will get that wake up call soon.

Let's not any of us get ahead of ourselves. I want them to be a success, but I don't think making blanket statements before they've aired is going to do anyone any good.

This is all one big experiment. They could be both big successes, flops or one could flop and the other success.

I think I started a thread (I only got one response and I'm too lazy to dig it up) asking whether these online soaps will impact the soaps on broadcast TV in any way.

Steve Kent can try to slyly diminish the impact but over at CBS, they must be glowering at the press/buzz. No, technically these shows are not in competition but now that Nielsen has made a point of saying that that they are going to be keeping track of online ratings, CBS, NBC and ABC will absolutely be tracking the progress of these shows.

Hopefully the networks will be made to feel some pressure to become more progressive and flat out write better stories than they currently do.

sorry that is what I think. These shows will succeed and the showrunners at the other soaps who dont see AMC & OLTL as viable competition are in for a surprise

JK hasn't really been doing the MOST press for OLTL 2.0! He only did a video with JWoww for MTV's website and only one interview so far for Daytime Confidential.

Prospect Park's Rich Frank's Message To Fans

By SOD • Posted: Apr 16, 2013

Prospect Park co-chief Rich Frank tells Digest that a big advertising push will help attract viewers to the relaunches of AMC and OLTL on April 29th ("You'll see ads in print and on television") but hopes that fans will help spread the word, as well. "We would hope that all of them would call their friends to make sure they watch them! The way to ensure that this is going to work, because we're really totally advertiser-supported is, is that we've got to get the eyeballs to be watching this. They've done it before; it's just a matter of rallying the troops and getting them to watch. That's all I could ask them to do at this point. We're going to try to give them the best we've got and if they will support us and tweet and Facebook and use all the social media and everything just to make sure that everybody knows that on the 29th, we're going to be back, that would be great."
