to me, even though AJ hasn't been in every single episode, he's been in a lot more then others have. When the show was splicing episodes together, I wish they had cut out some of Aj/Miranda's upteenth conversations about their friendship.. ugh.. we get it.. it's you guys against the world... no need to have countless scenes between them. I do like that Miranda had scenes with Zach lately and AJ had scenes with David awhile back.. but if both were not featured for a couple of episodes, I wouldn't miss them LOL

This is what many are saying. AMC needs to start getting the actors back out there again to push even harder for promoting the show considering OWN's first numbers coming in for the summer short term airing of repeats. The actors have got to get back out there in full force, with Aug 12 coming up in a few weeks for their next round of intense block shooting schedule.

The show cannot afford to simply sit back and watch and wait.

Why aren't PP sending the actors out to talk shows, not just pod casts and internet shows? At least Susan Lucci made mention of All My Children being on OWN when on Watch what happens Live. If it wasn't for Susan Lucci mentioning AMC/OLTL on occasion during interviews, there would be no promotion outside of the internet.

Also, I think 2 episodes per week is not enough.. but I also think 4 episodes per week isn't feasible either with the current filming schedule both shows are doing. Since PP opted to premiere the shows too soon, this is the cards we are dealt.

I'm think 3 episodes per week would be a happy medium. The writers/EP could view each weeks 3 episodes as a trilogy of sorts.. a beginning/middle/end for that week's progression of stories/scenes/plot-points. It would be enough time to advance plot, but also employ some character moments as well.

To me, All My children has suffered in regards to the character beats as opposed to OLTL. At the same time, OLTL has suffered plot-wise while AMC has been firing on all cylinders in regards to plot movement.. just think it's time to get the Celia Guardian story going and get David/Cara/JR to the next stage of the plot since we have established JR/Cara, David/Card, and JR/David quite well in these 30 episodes thus far.

I don't think it's so much a question of sending actors out for TV shows so much as if the TV shows will have them. They aren't exactly A-list guests to have, not to mention it being summer as various talk shows are on more erratic schedules if not outright hiatuses. That said, PP and OWN could stand to purchase more commercial time on other stations as PP did for the April launch.

    • Who is Ken Howard? I think you mean Howard Keel.

Overall, I would agree. However, it has been interesting while I'm waiting for something to happen to see her experimenting with finding characters' individual styles. I feel she's slowly getting it. But yes, it has been hit and miss.    Like when she tries to give a particular style to one person and think it will work for someone else. Like she's lightened up Nick's style which was...different. Almost like she was listening to JM's own style, but keeping it within Nick's bandwagon. Then she tried a similar style on Billy and it just didn't work.
    • It's been pretty well-known since that that BBG was offered a similar deal as Ken Howard (ie 4-6 episodes) and she told them to fudge off. With Jane Wyman, I don't doubt they were willing not to hold her to her contract, but in those early episodes where she appears, she's written sitting down or in a bed for a reason. Her health genuinely seemed in decline.
    • Agree, but I am talking more about the initial casting. Melissa might have only lasted a season if Ana Alicia hadn't impressed.
    • I'm not that impressed with the costuming, still very hit and miss, not much improvement and some of the outfits for Nikki in particular have been awful. Maybe Mariah's secret is she encountered Ian and killed him? That might work except for the fact that her mother has done the same thing.
    • Ana Alicia was far more dynamic and charismatic than McGeehan or Vernon though. Some of it due to the writing of course, but not all of it.
    • It actually felt like TM-G was a bit softer in her scenes with nu-Ted that kind of matched his meeker energy as Ted on Friday. I was very curious how she’d play off him and now I have my answer.
    • My thoughts exactly! Fantastic find @DRW50!
    • That was interesting; thanks. Courtney looks tired and/or bored AF, LOL!
    • 5-12   Lord have mercy.   I'm not sure how I feel about it. Perhaps what I said last week or the week before last. If the highlight of a soap is what people are wearing and not the writing, that's not a good thing. And that was how I was feeling watching this. There was not anyone that I was interested in seeing in the episode outside of Daniel and Sally tbh. Because Daniel continues to be the only thing that humanizes Phyllis for me.    I could care less for the Billy/Sally scenes where he's woe is me. I could care less about Kyle/Claire since the writers took all the drama right out of the pairing. Humanized or not, I could care less for Giggly Heffa.    I barely care for Teriah. But for me, it's nice to see something going on with them. Though it seems so horribly contrived.    I liked the costume designer appears to be trying to find individual styles for some of the characters. For me, Tessa's with the boots stood out given her indie musician history. It seems like Claire's style is coming into its own with block colors. I like Kyle's wardrobe is loosening up somewhat. I even loved the striped dress that Phyllis had on.    But again...where is the writing?
