Your LEAST Favorite Opening Sequences

Pretty much all the ABC soap openings once they added character names, but ESPECIALLY in the case of PC:

It just looks so tacked-on. Which, of course, it was.

This is one case where updating the opening was a plus, as the new opening reflected how the show had changed.

PC. Noooooooooooo!!!!

At least my Kevvie had the privilege of being last. Only Mac, Sonny, and Luke have gotten that honor in the GH openings.

Kelly Monaco looked like a high schooler there. And, OMG. She's not wearing black!

I don't think so either. But, maybe she was also blowing Frons.

Okay, okay...I'll stop now.

Maybe she blew Frons as Ray Liotta watched ... because he has that kind of fetish.

I was gonna say that I really enjoyed the incorporation of characters names but it never looked as elegant as it did in the AMC Gold Opening

I know this isn't particularly about themes but I just have to say AMC's last one was great, until the guitar riffs come rushing in and it all goes to cheesy hell. Always bothered me. LOL

It's a little random, but I seriously imitate that guitar riff every time I hear it. It's too epic for me to resist doing that.

THAT one worked, I agree. And I liked that opening, too.

Actually, I thought the names on GH's FOTH opening looked good, too.

OLTL's Blue & White opening was okay with adding names, but I think they looked best during Live Week in 2002, when they used the actor

names instead. I think it worked better because the name thing hadn't been adopted yet and it was a special event.

The elders have already told me I'm destined to rot in hell but it's not too late to save yourself.

This is pretty much my mantra at this point, it's too late for me:

I love the music. LOL.

I hope they keep the same music for the reboot.

As for the visual of the last intro, I have to laugh at the clip they chose for Kendall - gettin' all ghetto...

wub.png Damn I love that they show two different sides of Kendall in her shot there. Bitchy & sweet/innocent. My girl ;-)

Yea in theory I like the actor names being included but it seemed too busy and too fast to be able to read. I'm mostly thinking of GH's opening before the current one. I actually loved the style on that though, how they did the overlapping and the character name was more prominent but you could still know who the actor was if you cared enough to look for it.

At least we'll rot together and the best part is that those sanctimonious haters will be there right next to us.

Re: the era of "name checks" on all ABC soaps -- I recall reading an interview with then-VP Angela Shapiro or someone from her team saying those were done in order to better promote familiarity between audience and characters. People watch these shows, he/she said, and especially if they're watching for the first time, they have no idea who's who.

Shortly after that, though, Y&R did their own variation, using the actors' names on-screen rather than the characters'.

Last FOTH version.
