Worst Soap Stan Wars of all Time?

I could have sworn Laura kept talking up Jeffrey even when most of the non-Richard/Cassie audience was all for Edmund. I may be wrong on that.

I know she apparently hated the planned pairing with Josh and that's a big part of why she split. Frankly, I thought it was a very compelling concept that was written and executed horribly, but I think LW is the only one who could have played that.

I find it catty and unecessary to tell a fan who tweeted you that they aren't enjoying your current story to find a new show then. It's on RC's level of bitchery.

Honestly, I think the fan should take their bitching to someone who can actually do something about it, not the actor who is simply paid to play out whatever they give him to play, especially when the actor (who has no control over story, or whatever decision his former leading lady decided to make) is doing everything he can to interact with fans and listen to what they have to say.

And there's such thing as being professional. JT isn't the first or last actor to get bitched at by fans. He should do what others do and not engage and not all of it is crazy fans spewing hate some was simple critism of his current story.

Manny was still popular enough for those fans to cry foul whenever Danny OR Michelle was featured in a scene with ANYONE ELSE.

It's a shame, because Nancy St. Alban had decent chemistry with Frankie D and Danny Cosgrove (Frank and Bill, respectively) and I enjoyed Paul Anthony Stewart's scenes with Laura Wright (Cassie) and he was the only one who ever got anything out of Mandy Bruno (Marina), aside from that last guy who played Shayne.

Guiding Light was eventually forced to put Manny on a bus to California because the Mannyac maniacs refused to accept even friendships with other people. That was a truly frightening fanbase.

Personally, I always thought Cassie had better chemistry with Edmund than she did with Danny, but she did have good chemistry with Danny.

Then the insane Brad Cole fans struck and Scruffy O'Scumbag (Jeffrey O'Neill) was born.

If anything, I'm glad that I've created this thread because I've learned that GL is the king of the nutty soap stans - something that I damn sure wouldn't have suspected by a surface glance.

Ah, Jeffrey. I don't know much about his history prior to 2004 or post-2007, but I do know that he was one of the most-hated characters on that show. Didn't care for him with Cassie, but I attribute that to my being a Cassie/Edmund fan over any hatred for the guy.

Thanks for answering all my questions.

JT probably reached his breaking point. After awhile not many of us would keep taking crap from "fans"

Pretty much, though I actually thought that he was being far too diplomatic.

Heh, that is what he gets for pandering to those nutjobs. It was only a matter of time before they turned on him. Soap actors need to keep their distance from their fans and should not respond to them on Twitter.

Prospect Park, OLTL, GH...I may NOT watch/support OLTL b/c of it...which would suck. Because of stans and what has been said about GH, the situation and me personally elsewhere. For discussing openly how complicated the situation is. Unreal, but ok...

Actually, I'll go out on a limb and say the ABC fans have really been giving all soap fans a bad name since AMC and OLTL were shown the door. And now the shows are going to be "edgier" and "flashier" when they debut online. I don't see this ending well.

He really has been far too nice to those psychos, who have been bitching about storylines since at least 2008 and probably earlier.

You keep acting like he's the only actor ever harassed by fans online. Other actors have been harassed yet kept their cool and not engaged. That's what he gets for engaging and if he doesn't want to hear what people say about GH he needs to stop talknig about it on twitter.

Why? Twitter has saved more jobs on soaps than any of us would ever believe. It is a great tool when used correctly .

Some "fans" do push too far though and deserve the bite back they get sometimes.

Twitter has saved jobs? Yeah right! Who's job has twitter saved?

Daniel Goddard and MTS, for starters. Both freely admit to it too.

Lol if you beleive Twitter saved their jobs. Especially MTS. She only lost her job because she didn't want to take a paycut. And Sony is more than willing to let people go over that. They've only done it at least 3 times now. She was brought back when she agreed to that paycut.
