GH: Discussion for the Month of January

Oh, An... you and I are buds through and through and you know how I feel about Carlivati's writing and Laura Wright's "acting" as well as the Carly character... and we love each other anyway lol! So you know, when I say what I'm about to say, what it takes for me to say this: I AGREE WITH YOU!

There are so many levels that played in the AJ/Carly scenes today that I am, truly, impressed with how they played out! This is something that would NEVER have happened under Guza. I'm not gonna stretch and think that there will be any followup regarding Carly, since we pretty much know that LW was told who Carly's love interest was going to be this year, but at least, in this moment, Carly was able to FINALLY feel remorse for the GARBAGE she's done. It got to a crazy point two years ago that GH was celebrating Carly for being a fantastic liar, schemer, deceiver instead of recognizing that this was a horrible trait for a grown MOTHER to have! It was refreshing to see her feel that her ways came back to her and see her fall apart. This is probably the second time that I've ever felt "care" for LW's Carly. The only other time was on New Year's Eve when everyone was hating her after finding out Jax was alive.

ETA: The haircutting bit was a little too Emmy Bait obvious. LW was fine without that. After that I realized "Oh, this is LW's 'Emmy Submission' episode!" which kinda turned me off.

I guess Carly has the golden coochie. How many times did this chick say she wished he had stayed dead? Up until a few seconds before he took her home she was blatantly tempting him AGAIN to end his sobriety because she wanted him to fail so she could get the satisfaction of calling him a loser. She despises him. I guess she needs to throw a bottle of booze all over him and set him up again for him to get the hint. Carly would leave skidmarks on her way to the meatplant to have him hung on yet another hook if it would benefit her. If he's that desperate to get laid take a cold shower and call it a night.

LMAO! There has to be a gif for this moment, but I don't know how.

I agree with your assessment, which is why I always appreciated Wolf's writing for Carly. He knew where this 40 year old mother of 3 needed to be, and it was FRon who took a huge dump to that. Needless to say, it was marvelous to see her possibly come full circle!

I didn't find them entertaining in the least! That chit is not for GH!

And then to stay there, cover her, remove the hair from her face and watch her sleep? What kind of cream puff is this? You know I love Carly more than so many things, but this is not the story I thought we'd be getting for AJ. So now, do we have to watch him salivate over her from a distance? Will the woman who gets him never have his full attention?

Now, I said from day one that this AJ story had "loser" written all over it, but this is not what I expected. Under no circumstance do I want AJ and Carly together. LW and SK have great chemistry, but it's not that wonderful to where you have to ignore that he'd be nothing more than her manbitch. He's clearly no match for her! Ugh!

As long as it's not TranNene Leakes, I'll take whatever gif is available! ;)

But to delve further into Carly's psyche, I'm hoping that what she's been doing and expressing these past few months have simply been because she's too scared to come to grips with what she did back in the 1990s. I'm hoping that her reactions have been more along the lines of "OMG! Here, I thought my less than favorable deeds have been buried along with AJ, but yet, they've returned and now I have to face them as an adult who's looking at my past!" kind of way. Because I think that would do WONDERS for the Carly character regardless of WHO is playing her.

    • yes. today Monday's episode started with words displayed "part 1" and ended with "to be continued"
    • I find Missy Reeve's views offensive and I don't want to defend her, but I don't think she ever said anything publicly about Days "gay content".   In fact, I don't think she's ever said anything negative about Days at all.  There's no indication Missy is difficult or unprofessional on set-except for the whole affair thing years ago lol-but that's a whole different topic. I can dislike Missy as a person and still think she's the perfect fit for Jen.  Cady tried and it didn't work for me.  Whenever Missy steps into the role it works.  It's a two things can be true situation.  Missy has some bad opinions, but she's great at playing Jennifer.
    • Doesn't the funeral go into Tuesday
    • Christian Streaty wrote her second freelance script today on Days. Surprised they gave the first funeral episode to a newbie.
    • And the third thing, which I have no cite for, and I may look to see if one is findable, but supposedly she said that the show had too much gay content in it. And, to be fair, that could be someone making a criticism about balance & not be bigotry but when it's added to the other, that's why it bugs people.

The greatest tv series season finale in history.
    • Mick Savage was sooo unbearable. And more unbearable was the reaction from the female characters to him - they were acting like he is God's gift to women and sooo irresistible. To a point of unbelievable cringe.
    • Today was a short one. Only 33 minutes.  The ‘Part One’ graphic at the beginning was pretty interesting though. I didn’t expect them to do something like that.  I like how everything was focused around John and his family and friends. Again, the acting and the dialogue was very well done and well written. And I love that they were able to incorporate Drake’s, “swing for the fences” phrase into the script. It was nice seeing everyone interact with each other, especially characters who don’t often share scenes together. It felt like every character was part of a big family or community. Plus, an outdoor funeral in June makes a lot more sense than an outdoor funeral in December.  But yeah, it’s very, very strange that Will isn’t at the funeral, especially since we know that

I would much rather he had been there today. And, where’s Anna too? And Jack and Jennifer? What was the point of bringing them all back if they weren’t going to attend the funeral? I expected Steve to want to close down BlackPatch, though I’d rather he just retire and let Paul take it over. But I like that Kayla was there to comfort him. I wonder if he’s going to change his mind at some point.  It was nice seeing Shane again too. Now, he just needs to have more scenes with his son lol but I enjoyed seeing him comfort Marlena. I’m not really sure about his interaction with Cat though? Was it really necessary for this to happen now, at John’s funeral? They could’ve waited a little longer to introduce this story arc.  Btw, was Tate bleeding from his head in his first scene with Arianna?
    • This is the coldest early June in my life. It's like it's January.
