Yeah. Because John saving Samsel is a stark departure and such an exciting and unpredictable twist for both characters.

Oh I suppose that...kinda makes sense? Sounds like the most likely answer--but Rhino was replying to SFK who nowhere said anything about John having a better story at GH or OLTL or saving dams... sorry samsels.

Yes I was annoyed that Skye, for example, was spending time on every ABC soap except her proper one, AMC, but I don't think I wasted more than one post about it. It's not like GH has Dorian or Vicki, or Hell, Erica Kane and is not giving them to PP. The only real major player here, IMHO, in terms of a major character to OLTL's fabric is Todd (even if I think he should be retired from OLTL for a while, personally), and really all we'd get from him is an increasingly farfetched storyline with him ending up with Blair. Again.

I think Starr as a character is an important part of OLTL too, as Todd and Blair's daughter that people who've never watched OLTL still know about, but they can recast her. I am sure GH can come up with something creative to keep the actress and I don't think PP would want to trap her on OLTL if she doesn't want to be there. Or if they don't do that, they can just bring on her for guest appearances, or bring her on later and have the actress finish out her contract at GH.

Honestly I don't think this whole "GH 3" thing is that big a problem. It's not worth all the dissension that fans are having over it. It'll work itself out.

I was done with OLTL three years ago because I was sick of Todd, and now I can't get the least bit excited about it coming back because so much of its return is mired in "What about Todd?" I DON'T GIVE A [!@#$%^&*] ABOUT TODD.

I've never liked the character and imo it's just stupid that so much time is being wasted on trying to figure out which show he'll be on. Both shows would be better without Todd!

As for Starr & John, Mandy Bruno was visiting the casting director the other day, so hopefully she's in as the new Starr and John isn't necessary.

I find the Twitter updates in this thread quite valuable. They reveal a lot. For example, Ricky Paull Goldin giving neither a yes nor no to whether he was part of the new AMC in any way.

I don't really mind the Twitter reposts.

I'll keep the actual informative tweets over people's desperate attempts to emulate sitcom types on an Internet message board and waste the bandwidth, thanks. "My name's [screen name] and I have pizzazz!"
