HOLIDAY MIRACLE: Prospect Park Back On Track To Revive AMC and OLTL

  • Member

WTF!!!!!

EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

No - Maya was raising Lucy. Maya just asked if they could stay with Angie and Jesse and be a part of the family.

I'm pretty sure Jesse and Angie had Lucy at the end of the show

IIRC, Maya had the baby but she and Lucy had become an "unofficial" part of the Hubbard family. She was even included in the final Hubbard family portrait at the end.

Oh ok, yep. Sorry guys! God, it's been awhile.

Well PP needs to work on their mailing list for TOLN information. I got my e-mail from today about AMC/OLTL airing on Hulu...only five days after it happened. laugh.png

Grr I still want someone to address the Canuck situation.

@carlivatiron OLTL was not over budget nor did it have bad ratings when ABC cancelled the show.

  1. @KassieDePaiva @carlivatiron u better tell it! #OLTL was under budget and kicking ass in the ratings.

  2. @KassieDePaiva @carlivatiron the truth is a concept lost on some. So are facts.

Oy, reading Twitter gives me a [!@#$%^&*] headache.

It's easier when you're actually on Twitter. Plus then, you're reading it by your own volition instead of because someone dropped it onto a message board.

Do you think Ron Carlivati is now getting a bit on the cocky side? All this press/buzz has gotta be going to his head. When RC was made OLTL head writer he was a OLTL promotion and then within less than a year people were calling him god and over years he has gotten tons of press from soap press including Nelson/Jamey but now all this GH is hottest show on TV hes becoming a bigger name. Ron probably has the most press of any head writer in the biz.

Bill Bell always thought any role could be recastable. I dont think every role but many could be. So im ok with recasts as long a the characters are needed

For me, I'm even okay with recasting some major roles because these are reboots. It's a completely different animal. I view it like Dallas on TNT. I don't view John Ross or Christopher as recasts because it's a new production. Whatever cast these new shows start with will be those characters for me. But I still say if you need to do too much recasting, just create new characters so it isn't an issue for you.

ITA. But that goes back to a question I asked a while back: are these shows reboots or are they resurrections?

IMO, a reboot means re-imagining everything and starting from scratch like Dallas (the best model for PP to follow), Star Trek: TNG, Battlestar Galactica or the gawd-awful attempts to bring back Bionic Woman, Wonder Woman and Knight Rider. A resurrection is pretty self-explanatory. Bring the show back as close to it was: Family Guy, Arrested Development and Firefly (in the form of the movie, Serenity.)

I want these shows to be reboots. I think that's their best chance for success.
