Administrator Toups Posted January 10, 2013 Author Administrator Share Posted January 10, 2013 Oh and no Bigelow for directing too! This is now Spielberg's Oscar to lose. I like Spielberg so I'll be rooting for him since Affleck didn't get a nod. I think Lincoln will at least win best Best Actor, Best Director, and Best Picture. Members DRW50
Bigelow's film is being investigated by Congress and is being heavily protested by anti-torture advocates. I think it might be a little too hot to the touch.
Administrator Toups Posted January 10, 2013 Author Administrator Share Posted January 10, 2013 I don't think so. It got nominated for Picture, writing and Actress.
Members VirginiaHamilton
Congratulations to Quvenzhané Wallis for making history as the youngest actress to ever receive an Oscar nomination. You deserve every last drop of the accolades that you've received for BOTSW thus far.
Members DRW50
But not Director. When that happens doesn't it usually mean some type of statement being made.
Members Bright Eyes
Who I Hope Wins the Most: Jennifer Lawrence Who I Hope Loses the Most: Denzel Washington - Another undeserved nominated. Way to go! Blech ... Biggest Missing Nomination: Ewen McGregor (The Impossible) - He should have got nominated for Beginners, too! Members All My Shadows
I need to see Beasts of the Southern Wild. It was largely filmed in my parish near the areas we used to go fishing in when I was a kid, and the Oscar-nominated actress goes to school in my town. This NEVER happens here.
