I kinda didn't feel bad for Anthony. I mean, I feel bad for anyone who gets lied to in such a way, but the whole idea of "Oh I know he's lying to me, but I still lub me some him no matter what...." and then the lie is revealed and "Marq" is really Fat Albert's Green Acres cousin, and suddenly it's "Oh, I can't stand all the deception!!" Bitch please, as long as Framel's body was on point, he would have arched his back and rode that lie all night long!

that was like the fastest any case has been solved on this show. I was wondering where they were going to go with the episode bc it seemed as if they got all of it settled by the first half.

Last night's episode was so weird and funny.

First things first Max was so funny last night. When Ramon said he gave Loyda his bank information he had that "Dude you stupid" look on his face. Then when Loyda revealed that Ramon knew her and what she looked like and he just dropped the camera. also when he went back and forth with Loyda's mom who tried to act like the situation wasn't that bad.

Ramon was a little.... slow. I think he knew Paola wasn't who she said she was and just went along for the ride bc he couldn't get anything else. He was so dumb! She told she was another person 3 Times and you believed her everytime she took ot back? What a punk!

Loyda is certifiable. Sending rings to herself and what not and now we're supposed to believe she has a new boyfriend?

If I was Max and Nev last night, I would've been pissed. Both of them babies need prayer and therapy, especially Loyda. Who the hell buys their own engagement ring?

Loving/The City Discussion Thread

Yeah even when I discovered Loving as a 12 year old I thought it was such an embarrassingly awful name. Love Without End is... mildly better? At least it sounds like a show title. When you tell people you're watching something and they ask what and you answer "Loving" it's like... "Loving what? What show are you loving?" I have read Love Without End was Dan Wakefield's title idea--not sure if we blame Nixon or Marland for Loving

All My Children Tribute Thread

Fun little comment from one of the recent Pluto TV AMC eps. Liza is back in town and the head of WRCW and wants to make The Cutting Edge into a much edgier show. One of her suggestions is that they have an episode about the still unknown serial killer in Corinth which I think Tad cuts her down with some quip about people being over serial killer stories (that sounds like the writers insulting Loving's writers but I don't think that was the intention--at any rate, as played it just seemed like a fun wink to their sister show.)

I had forgotten that it was Broderick who turned Erica Kane's The Cutting Edge talk show (which was FAR from The Cutting Edge when McTavish introduced it--surprisingly) into being reformatted as more like the kinds of talk shows that by 1995 had taken over N American TV.

ALL: Hayden Panettiere dies at 36

Hayden had so many troubles, which I know she spoke about a great deal. Yet in my mind she is often still the girl I saw on GL, adding some meaning to even the most dubious of story choices, like the one where she held a sword to "slay the dragon" of cancer. She was remarkably poised and talented from her earliest days as little Sarah on OLTL.
The scene I remember most with her was in the Doris Duke TV-movie from the late '90s. She played a young Doris. At one point, her guardians, who wanted to traumatize her because she pushed back against the repressive life she had to lead, showed her a bag of all the death and kidnapping threats sent to her. She wept, and you wanted to weep too.
I'm so sorry for everything Hayden was put through. I hope she knew how much she meant to many people.

All My Children Tribute Thread

Ha you're welcome--I remember when someone out of the blue (I wish I had kept track) said he had had four episodes he found on an old VHS tape digitized and offered to send me a free copy (and then it took AGES for me to find a way to upload the DVD files to Youtube.)
The four episodes I uploaded were Feb 15, Feb 18, Feb 19 and May 28. Tom and Erica's wedding from 1978 still seems to be the earliest we have (thanks to a Soapnet marathon) not counting the 6 (I think I have that right) 1970 episodes we have on kinescope (to be fair they stopped using kinescope that year.) I saved 2 of those too (I sound so self congratulating now) as I downloaded them from Agnes Nixon's website back when it briefly had videos in a weird format (I wish I had thought to save the presentations she gave for OLTL and AMC anniversaries at the Museum of Radio and Television as it was then called as I remember them being very good and filled with clips--now I guess lost forever again unless you view them there. The other videos were less interesting stuff like recent AMC and OLTL anniversary clips)

But certainly everything from when AMC went to an hour in 1977--or soon after that, is archived out there somewhere.

@DRW50 I love that observation. In so many ways I think AMC changed less, or maybe more to the point transitioned slower so it was less noticeable, than SOO many other soaps between the 70s and the 80s. So it's really only when you can watch full episodes that you see it.
