Favorite Opening Credits Shots

What are yours?

Some of mine:

200px-Ericakane.jpg

(also loved the two alternating shots of her in the "signature" credits ca. 2002)

-Adam and Stuart in the double frame from "Falling Pictures" (actually, I loved the whole frame sequence before the pictures started falling)

(all of the variations of Joan's shot in the credits were great, but this one is perhaps the most iconic)

-Roger (Michael Zaslow) in his tux in GL's Hold on to Love opening

-From the same opening, the final shot of Harley (Beth Ehlers) doing her sexy bop across the dance floor (I also liked the shot of Marcy Walker as Tangie, sipping her champagne, that would later replace Beth's shot... interesting how they'd later be connected with the whole Liza Colby replacement debacle)

-Lauren (Tracey E. Bregman) in the pewter dress in the old B&B opening

* * * * *

I'll stop here for now so I don't end up stealing everybody else's.

Pics, gifs, and time specific links are great, but not at all necessary as we'll know exactly what you're talking about. :) Please refrain from embedding videos so everyone can enjoy the thread without it clogging and crashing.

My favorite of the RH credits was always Pat and Frank arm-wrestling, and Jill putting an apple in Frank's mouth, and Frank and Pat jogging while Siobhan, also jogging, gently pushes them both aside.

(lot of Frank there...)

I also liked the scene of Jill/Roger/Faith, dressed to the nines (I think - it's been a while), leaving for a night out. Hated 2/3 of the family, but loved that shot.

I was totally thinking of that dressed to the nines shot too, you could tell that was their attempt to up the '80s glam quotient. Was that also the one where they were in a fancy vintage car, or was that someone else, like IK's Delia or Rae?

I never noticed before how much the old B&B opening looks like a porn.

I remember that being the opening when I was a kid! Back when B&B kicked ass.

Lucy Coe's shot from the original FOTH. The one where she raises her eyebrow.

I was going to say this one! My all-time my favourite.

I loved the original Home & Away shots with the various people doing things around Summer Bay. I'll try and find some pictures.

Is anyone going to mention Sonia Satra's weird turn/bobbing head thing she used to do on the Hold on to Love opening of the 90's?

Nah, I hated that too smile.png

 Yeah, looked like she was balancing on one foot.

Have you all ever noticed when a shot of an actor from an episode is too short, but they're dead set on using it in the opening anyway, so they play it then rewind it? Examples from GL's HOTL are Beverlee McKinsey, the second Eleni (forget her name), and Petronia Paley, also Rock Hudson from Dynasty.

Yup. The Eleni in a red dress?

Similarly, I think they did some sort of weird rewind thing on Robert Reed's bobble head on the first season of The Brady Bunch. :)

Another one of my favorites....

The AMC opening (the scrapbook one from 2004-2010) where Myrtle is shown smiling during one of the flying pictures. I loved that.

Maybe you're thinking of the shot from the early 80s opening where they used anonymous actors to get the "feel" of New York. There's the one with the glamorous woman in a fur getting out of a fancy car:

How could I forget this? Karen Witter as Tina had the BEST shot in OLTL's old opening by far. She truly was a soap beauty

Ah yes, thanks!

I used to get real close to the TV and be like, "Now that's Adam's house, that's Palmer's house, Joe and Ruth's house is right there, Phoebe and Langley's..."

They gave her Dorian's (and later Melinda's) fountain! Yeah, that's a sexy pic. They had some awful ones of Andrea that did her no fried hair favors.

About the fountain, as the opening continued to get updated, the animated backgrounds ceased. The fountain running water was now a still, as was the golfer swinging her club. The dog kept running though.
