Favorite Opening Credits Shots

What are yours?

Some of mine:

200px-Ericakane.jpg

(also loved the two alternating shots of her in the "signature" credits ca. 2002)

-Adam and Stuart in the double frame from "Falling Pictures" (actually, I loved the whole frame sequence before the pictures started falling)

(all of the variations of Joan's shot in the credits were great, but this one is perhaps the most iconic)

2-jock-ewing4.jpg?w=719

-Roger (Michael Zaslow) in his tux in GL's Hold on to Love opening

-From the same opening, the final shot of Harley (Beth Ehlers) doing her sexy bop across the dance floor (I also liked the shot of Marcy Walker as Tangie, sipping her champagne, that would later replace Beth's shot... interesting how they'd later be connected with the whole Liza Colby replacement debacle)

-Lauren (Tracey E. Bregman) in the pewter dress in the old B&B opening

* * * * *

I'll stop here for now so I don't end up stealing everybody else's.

Pics, gifs, and time specific links are great, but not at all necessary as we'll know exactly what you're talking about. :) Please refrain from embedding videos so everyone can enjoy the thread without it clogging and crashing.

In the past, I've imagined what it would look like if they had scenes from the show with various cast member reflected on the revolving glass (kind of like a mix between GL's My Guiding Light and Hold on to Love openings), or even zoomed in and superimposed faces on the falling grains of sand.

I often have too, and I enjoy the fan videos on youtube - but i am so glad they never did it.

True, it's such an iconic opening and some fans even gave them [!@#$%^&*] when they introduced the computer graphics version. I think it was Corday who said in SOD back then that the only reason they did that was because the original film was just not holding up well. It's true, it was super grainy and glitchy like an old reel to reel film you'd watch in Health class.

I love how all 3 bitches are charging forward in their mini shot

YES! I wonder if Bill Conti is doing the trumpeteering himself. I love the way the melody really slows building up to that that huge fanfare. The super long "with special appearances by" Dynasty credits that introduced the Colbys is my favorite Dynasty opening, it's better than the The Colbys opening itself. I love how the Dynasty theme plays over the shot of the helicopter gliding along the Malibu shore.

And a special shoutout to Claire Yarlett's credit where you see that one brother gettin' his groove on at the disco. It's just so perfect how in the context of the opening, it looks like he's jammin' to Bill Conti.

That's my fave Dynasty opening, too. A great embarrassment of bitches! It's crystal clear how/why they could only go down from such a high peak at that point.

The Claire Yarlett clip always looks so Miami Vice to me. I don't usually associate that type of scene with Dynasty.

I remember a few years back on SoapChat (boards for all of the major 80s nighttime soaps), they noticed the symbolism in some of the "nature scenes" behind the actors. Gordon Thomson reclining in a glass of wine, Geoffrey Scott's bouncing tennis balls, Billy Dee Williams's cannonball train, Heather Lockler's coochie opening up like a safe, etc. Hilarious.

B&B.

I always liked the scene of Stephanie in front of the mirror, even if it became very outdated after a few years.

I could understand updating it, but did he have to make the hourglass spin with the atrocious "dusk-to-dawn" background?

I like the spinning, but the background is just so-so.

WHO IS THIS?

Dylan Neal, who was Dylan on B&B in the mid 90's. He was with Jessica Forrester and was a stripper and had some story with Lauren.
