October 23, 201213 yr Member Every week this television season (so far three), a shocking thing has happened: NBC is the #1 network in the 18-49 demographic. (CBS still remains the leader in total viewers.) Not even executives at NBC could have imagined this in their wildest dreams, though almost everybody expects NBC not to finish the season as the #1 network. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/10/22/business/media/nbc-finds-itself-in-unfamiliar-territory-on-top.html Obviously, the success of Revolution and The Voice contributed greatly to this triumph. It also helps that the other networks have made some bad decisions. Aside from Vegas, I think that CBS really screwed up with its new programming.
October 23, 201213 yr Member Remember NBC also has Sunday Night Football which gives them a huge boost. But they have had a couple of hits this season.
October 24, 201213 yr Author Member Jane, what surprised me is that despite having Sunday Night Football since 2006, (I believe) NBC was in fourth place every year they had that property until now. I am really impressed with the new NBC leadership, as I thought it would take many years to dig themselves out of the hole Zucker dug for them. I seem to recall a comment he made in regards to his belief that NBC could never be #1 again.
October 26, 201213 yr Member Well good for NBC, I've always rooted for them, even if I don't watch any NBC programs expect Days of Our Lives and The New Normal. Oh, and SNL.
