Presented by Jerome Flynn, the guy who plays Sam, and the lovely Sophie Turner, Doctor Who won a BAFTA that clearly no one involved with the show actually expected them to win.

Too bad Adventure in Space and Time didn't win anything.

Extensive scripts and footage for 8 have been leaked online and to the British tabs, but I've been ignoring it all.

Doctor Who Magazine is having one of their top episode fan poll issues. It's done differently than last time (last time they ranked every story). This time they have a top 20 for each decade, with comments on the top 10 for each decade.

If anyone wants to know what the fan choices were, let me know and I'll tell you.

Please do so. DWM is months behind here...so I probably won't see the poll until weeks after the fact.

As ever, Bleeding Cool is claiming the Series 8 opening sequence is patterned after a fan video and credited as such in the leaked materials. Serious grain of salt for me, but the original looks nice.

Peter Capaldi talks with BBC News about the new Doctor and the new series. The article confirms that the premiere, Deep Breath, is 80 minutes. Great clip at the link, too.

I'm pretty excited, but I am always excited about Doctor Who. Series 7 was a bit bland in spots but it recouped well during the anniversary stories.

I love that Capaldi did not miss a beat continuing to sign autographs during the second clip at the bottom.

Steven Moffat and the BBC have confirmed they are using a slightly altered version of Billy Hanshaw's fan opening for the new opening sequence for Series 8. I posted it a few posts upthread.

There will be a Companion special on BBC America this Monday, hosted by Peter Davison. David Tennant will also be appearing.

The tabloid Mirror claims Jenna Coleman is exiting come 2015.
