Im a Sam fan and that killed off any enjoyment I could have had with her being reunited with her baby. She came across very unsympathetic today as both she and Jason were selfish and cruel to Tea for no reason. Its not like Tea kidnapped the kid and held him on purpose.

I don't give 2 chits about Spam, but perhaps you guys should give her a minute to adjust. Right now, Tea is a threat. She just got her son back, and someone coming at her who once claimed this kid as her own is not welcomed right now. Sam will soon realize that Tea now has to go thru what she herselft went thru and she will feel really bad for her. I believe Sam will go to Tea (at least that is how I would write it).

I just want to add that I don't think it's so much emotional depth that is the problem. I think the characters clearly have deep emotions. Ron cannot write for emotional complexity at all. One glaring example is when John was waxing poetic one minute about how he had this rare connection to Natalie that was just gone now and he had no idea what came next. And then what came next came next, and it was him sticking his tongue down Sam's throat. The scenes aired on different days, and if you'd missed Monday, you wouldn't think Natalie was even a glimmer in John's faded memories. Liam either. Part of that, I guess, falls on Easton. But the writing is so incredibly disjointed that the two episodes == which basically consisted of a continuous interaction, had no seeming connection. They were completely contradictory.

IA. However, I don't believe they needed to go as far as having Sam lash out at Tea like she did. It's enough just to realize Tea has to give up a child she had formed a bond with. Anything more would be, and is, overkill, IMO.

It's basically stacking the deck. Carlivati wrecked the last few years of OLTL in part because of his constant need to make Tea the martyr of the ages. He's been relatively restrained with her appearances now but I guess that couldn't last forever.

He's done a terrible job bringing in the OLTL characters. I'm just glad no one I cared about showed up more than once or twice.
