Whining about Cartini while pretending that Guza/Frons/Phelps produced a great soap? Looks like nothing has changed since I last swam around these parts. Anywho...

Thank Zeus that Cartini went to work in throwing out the trash -- especially the roided goiter, whose departure I am busy planning a week-long celebratory bacchanal for -- and improving the overall tone of the show over the course of their 6+ month tenure. While they certainly have more garbage to dispose of (i.e.: getting rid of Sonny and his snaggletoothed skunk, erasing Krustina and Eeyore in any incarnation from the canvas, and feeding Spinelli to the wolves), I can honestly say that they've made this show (as well as some characters that I previously could care less about, such as Sam and Tracy) a lot more tolerable and, even, enjoyable than it was last year.

Kudos to a job semi-well done, Cartini, though your work is far from being completely done. Let's hope that you succeed in bringing Genie Francis back home and provide her with a story worth her and the fans' time, as her last stint was nothing short of appalling. Even snagging Jonathan Jackson for a week-long stint to welcome his mother back would go a long way towards you deserving the crown for being GH's saviors

Cause lawd knows filthy ass McPain and Todd are not airhogs and everyone got their fair share on that dead POS OLTL, right? Cartini are as inept as they come, and GH is far from better. It's worse. There is no imagination or creativity. Just stupidity.

But, how are you? It's been a while.

My thing is why are they entitiled to a payoff? I mean there are fans who waited years and years and never got one so what makes them so friggin' special? e.g. JJ's Lucky to return for LL2 only to get one of the crappiest storylines ever. That is the problem with this insufferable pairing they had the blessing of Frons who gave them the writing, allowed anyone who came near them in story to get trampled and / or hijacked so they could be "the stars front and center" countless characters including a movie star; marketing pimped and propped them for years (still doing it) and many went under the bus with the big wheels keep on turnin' all for the love of JaSam.

I'm so glad to be rid of them honestly... I'm realistic to know it'll be the same thing with Yawn McLame.

BRAVO!! They all sucked in their own special way.

There are a lot of things that aren't working for me; but hey whether its good or bad fundamentallly that's all they care about; I'm still watching the show. Just because I'm not doing cartwheels chanting my love of Carlintini the pied piper of soaps is just my own personal thang. Yes there are things I like but overall I've never cared for their style of storytelling that's why I didn't watch OLTL.

Wow. What a reminder. Jake was killed unnecessarily for them.

The only payoff to be had was Jason threatening to kill her. I don't care that he they got back together because that made anything after that insignificant for me. It's kind of like McBain running out on Natalie to chase after Evangeline after Nataile confessed her love for him. None of that is in the least bit romantic or the sign of true love.

My favorite GH moment ever begins at 10:22

I see Felicia got a haircut. Wonder when that actually happened. I also cant take her and Maxie being so nice to each other. I hate that they skipped over their makeup

As for GH being better or not, it goes both ways. I dont get why people get so pressed about others actually enjoying the show and finding it more entertaining. To each their own.

So bc other couples have had it bad, none should end up happy or is it just Jason/Sam? I dont really see them getting a decent end considering the fact that Jason is leaving and Sam isnt. Unless she they are riding out into the sunset together (and thats not happening), they are going to get one final heartache to finally end them. Hardly sounds like a happy ending to this insufferable couple

May I just ask an admittedly frivolous question?

Why does everybody on this show have a "J" name?! Why is there John, Johnny, John Jacks (who's apparently dead), Jason, Jerry, Jax, Joe Jr., Josselyn and Jake (may he rest in peace)? Is there a reason for this? Is this a throwback to some old writers joke? Because for all the "quirkiness" this seems to bring, from a writing standpoint it's amateurish. It's especially bad to have two characters on the show with the same name (John/Johnny). Having them both talking about a third character with the same name (John Jacks) is nonsensical. I know that there's a lot of McBain hate and I get it, trust me, but just from a Writing 101 standpoint John McBain shouldn't have been brought on the show with a character named Johnny already on canvas.

So really, is there a reason for the "J"s? Because right now, all that's left for them to do is bring on Jenny and Jesse from AMC and JJ from Good TImes.

    • Randy (Doug's friend who works for Joey) -- Joey told Randy weeks ago that Joey's plan was to get Doug into so much debt that Doug would be forced to get Vanessa's real estate holding turned over to Joey, to use for money-laundering.  That's been the plan all along, which the viewers knew.  The only thing new is that Joey finally told Doug this. I think Joey is written badly.  I also think Jon Lindstrom is doing "Now I am going to act menacing".   But I don't really feel the menace.  It's too overdramatic and it doesn't feel like a real person.  Jon is a fine actor on GH, so I don't know what's happening here -- the entire BTG mobster premise is badly designed/written.  I don't know if Guza pushed for a mobster storyline?  Or did Jon?  (Jon wrote a novel about Hollywood mobsters). It just doesn't fit.  It feels (to me) like this storyline for Jon was just shoved onto the canvas but it doesn't fit all all. Monday's scene of Mona coming into the "casino" to check up on where Leslie supposedly lost money in the slot machines -- and Randy explaining to Mona that there are no slot machines, there is nothing but the card room.  I had to laugh because they had characters comment that it's just a card room and not a casino -- the show is now acknowledging that there's nothing there.  If they are going to do this, then have it make sense for Fairmont Crest residents to visit a high-end glamourous casino, and not a random room with one table. So what money is Joey laundering? A while back, Joey told Vanessa that he knows about her sexual philandering because owns the escort service that she'd been using. But I don't care...  I'd just prefer that the entire mobster storyline go away.
    • I caught up this past weekend. The show is better written, but I have been bored with the show. I did notice it ranked in the top 5 again this week, so that's a good sign.
    • I can't take this show seriously. I truly miss WJB writing this show. Bradley didn't inherit his dad's talent.
    • Maybe if there had been a good close up or two
    • I haven't had a chance to view the interview, but I'm glad Mike didn't get the part of Derek.  Derek is a badly written character. Any Ben Gavin screenshot from yesterday's show?
    • Wait, what? So, Martin’s not running for President anymore? Just like that?  I didn’t expect this storyline to be long term but I would’ve liked to see it play out for a little while longer, or at least until Martin’s secret was revealed. And definitely not fade out with a whimper. Sort of like Naomi’s lawsuit against Bill’s firm; what was the point of it all if it was just gonna wrapped up so easily and (probably) forgotten about?  Eva is still the breakout character though. I’m looking forward to seeing where she goes from here with everyone, especially if the twist that we’re all suspecting turns out to be true.  And I did find the gambling storyline interesting finally, now that we know Joey’s endgame. I’d like to see it play out and to see what happens to everybody involved in it.  As for Derek/Ashley… I wonder how it would’ve played out if they actually had cast Mike Manning as Derek. Yeah, the writing isn’t there but I imagine that Derek would have more of a personality lol and I also imagine that it would’ve made Ron Carlivati’s head explode
